Broken lens mount on 18-105 VR

Hi all,
does anyone know the general repair cost to fix/replace the plastic lens mount ring on the standard 18-105mm VR that came with the D90?

The camera fell straight off the table & landed on the lens.
After that, i found the plastic mounting ring had broken into 3 pieces.
The lens cannot be mounted onto the body anymore.

wondering whether it's more worth it to service it or buy a new one.

Brand new nwadays is in the region of 350 (with so many offloading it from the popular D90 model), u will lay ur hands on one rather easily, but.. the question being is whether the repair charges justifiable to get a new one, only nsg can give u the answer

Apart from broken lens mount, you need to check if there are other damage inside the lens elements. If there is more internal damage, I would say get another copy from BnS. Or it may be time to get the Tamron 17-50 or 18-270 or Nikon 18-200.

If internals are ok, personally, I will not go to NSC to get the repair done. I will look for bro fatigue, and see if I can get the lens mount replaced with a metal one.

Hopefully it's only the mount ring that damaged.
