We have lots of enquiries & invitation to quote on tape transfers and hope this little FAQ section will help off load our email & phone enquiries.

FAQ:

1) Other service providers are providing tape transfer services at a cheaper rate, why can't we match their price for the same services?
- We provide broadcast level quality of video tape transfers and have limited production resources. It is not viable for my business to compete with other service providers in terms of pricing.

2) So how different is your service?
- Tape transfers are tape transfers, so long as you get your required job done, it is good enough for you. However, we use professional grade of broadcast video equipment that are different from consumer machines. Professional grade machines have better designed digital processors (DSPs, ADCs, DACs) just like how audio fanatics are anal about their sound going through the amps, speakers, etc..
Our video transfer work for digital tapes are strictly maintained in the digital domain, ensuring no generational or compression loss in picture quality. Timecode data can be exactly duplicated thus maintaining accuracy in archival & broadcast usage.

3) What is the turnaround time?

- For tape to tape transfers or ingest services, time involved is the same as your tape duration, but as we normally handle volume & bulk work for tape transfers & archival, we normally have a longer delivery time. We can definitely handle your urgent one-off works, and we'll definitely try to fit you in and get your stuff done.

To facilitate better services for our clients, we now have a tape dropbox for clients to deposit tapes while we are out-stationed.

Common work we handle for our clients:
- miniDV / DVCAM / Any Betacam formats to BetacamSP or DVCAM tape transfers or duplication.
- miniDV / DVCAM / Any Betacam formats to DVD mastering
- Mastering to BetacamSP tape from FCP timeline
