i think s5pro noise better then D300 for details.

yeah DR, color & AWB is really the best in the market. i dare say surpass the D700 even!

other than that. AF speed etc etc its losses out!

yup...pretty much agree to this...it can really match up to a d700...only in these areas though..everything else..d300 is better...faster

for me..its s5pro..without a doubt..considering its really cheap if you can still find one

I count myself fortunate that the first DSLR I own is an S5 Pro. I was just a few minutes away from losing it, as I beat the road block to get it downtown. No regrets.

I find it good. I can never imagine a lens can be so light. I am not saying light is good, but it fits my needs at times. You are right, the Tokina 50-135mm is a better choice interms of IQ and bokeh, but it is bulky and heavy. Pros and cons.

tokina always built like a tank. maybe one of these days can try your 50-135

i dunno leh maybe my 55-200 VR was a lemon. its the worst i have used!! but i dun use tele much if i do i do it with my 105mm ai-s :heart:

thanks for inputs about diff between s5 and d300.

JoeJerry, I just called that shop at Bukit Panjang plaza...they told me they have sold the last unit of S5 pro. They tell me it is out of production so may be difficult to find a brand new unit....you can try your luck at other FujiFilm stores...good luck!

Just saw some last week in Hong Kong Mongkok area price at HKD6880. I saw 4 brand new sets from 3 shops. I was thinking of buying but somehow stuck with choice between S5 and D90. Do some research last few days on all my photo and decided to give S5 a try. But need to find out anybody going to Hong Kong soon.
