During the recent Qing Ming month prayers, I recently got back in touch with a long lost grand uncle that I never knew existed; we reconnected after my grandma's passing. One of her last wishes was that we continue maintaining our family grave. I found out through this uncle that we actually had a family grave in Bukit Brown. Turns out, my family arrived in Singapore in the late 1800s! My great great great grandma first came to Singapore from Shantou, China when she was just 18, and settled down in the Toa Payoh area.
Knowing this, I couldn't miss the chance to pay my respects at our family grave.
Not forgetting to bring along my camera to document this occasion as well... Just some mediocre shots of my little day trip to Bukit Brown:
sorry about the shaky picture, my shaking hands kind of ruined it.
what struck me about this guy was that he was a 30 something doing his English homework on the slimy fish market floor. I thought that was really admirable.
So just sharing that even though it's not the best picture (or even a picture at all). :sweatsm:
