~~~ [bonrya] A Photo A Day 2013 ~~~
Day 28: Minutes
This pig was being tied up, about to be washed for the last time. There's a deep sense of guilt when I look at this picture, because it was about to be sold in the markets as Lechon.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lechon
(I've not had pork for 2 years, but ate pork everyday during my time in Cebu.)
They live in the slums but they're probably happier than anyone of us.
Very true indeed, in many impoverished parts of Asia.
Day 29: Koi
Can't figure out the white balance for this one, so hope it doesn't look too weird. :sweatsm:
Day 30: All smiles
Just behind a knife making factory, these children play within the comfort of their home, even though it's right next to a swamp. What is happiness?
Day 32: The Academia
The project that has kept me busy for the past 3 years. Finally it's coming to an end. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
Day 38: Around the chocolate hills
Went for a day trip up to chocolate hills while we were in Bohol. I've always wanted to go there, so the experience was very surreal for me. I grew up listening to many legends that came from the chocolate hills. When I was there I couldn't help but stop to look for the enchanted people or the rumoured unicorn-like apparation that would appear to certain unfortunate (or fortunate) people.
Day 40: Rock-a-bye baby
I had to sneak into someone's house to take this picture.. :sweatsm: luckily the mum and grandma were very kind to let me photograph the sleeping child. <3
Day 42: Seafood delivery
This guy was amazing. He could speak English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Cantonese! :sweatsm: He runs a 'seafood delivery' service where he brings fresh/live seafood to tourist boats to sell them the freshest catch of the day. Uni (Sea Urchin) were 20 pieces for $3!!! :bsmilie: Of course we ordered it. They were small and delicious!
very nice series bonnie.
you were happy with the seafood until you landed in an landed where seafoods are much cheaper :)
