Buy a Nikon 50mm AI F2, its much easier, only fraction of a price at $100 secondhand and also super sharp from fully open at f2 onwards. And this lens is even sharper than a 50mm AIS f1.8 at f2.

A lot of lenses at f/2 r really sharp n some even gives very pleasing bokeh. Jupiter lenses for example can b acquired at sub 100 range.

Normally the cosplayer would act as the character they r cosing, so u just work with them to get the expression, posture they want.

Thoth you like cosplay ? most of your picture are cosplay. Never shoot cosplay before too, everytime at STGCC , there is alot Pro taking their photo, there is no chance for small camera LOL
Normally you ask them how to pose or they just pose for you ?
Thinking to bring camera for coming STGCC.

Usually at events, they will pose their usual character's pose but if given an opportunity to ask them aside for some solo shoots, U could also courteously ask them for some poses U prefer.
U R gg to STGCC? Seeya there then. U can try my Rokkor and Lux if U want at the event too. Cheers.

some quick test shot of Porst MC 55 1.2 no where close to Rokkor quality hehe
Still a pretty good lens for the price. Difference with Rokkor not much especially on web unless go into full res
