Hi Thoth, chiefly the MC Rokkor 58mmm f/1.2 & the Revuenon 55mm f1.2. I have not been able to get these multi blur vertical lines no matter what I do.
HI Pinholecam. Lovely shot on the flowers. The color and bokeh blur on the second flower is lovely. The color of the leaves and back ground bokeh looks like a pastel of colors from an oil painting, lovely.
Those multiple blur vertical lines are generally considered 'no good'
From my own f1.2 lenses as well as observations from the samples of others, imo, all of them have this 'flaw' and it will show up in certain situations/bkgnd type/focus distance/bkgnd distance.
Its then up to the user to avoid them or use them to effect imho.
But as I said in an earlier thread, bokeh is largely subjective and what is established as 'norms' don't apply to everyone's perceptions/taste.
Thanks for the nice comment on the flower picts.
The Pentax FA31ltd is certainly a nice lens to me.
Nice contrast and rendering for a wide angle lens (which is not always the case for WA lenses)
Small and all metal build too.
I dunno abt d reveunon but Minolta MC Rokkor is legendary for its Bokeh. U really need to get one to get d same effect. Its known tat Leica Noctilux 50mm f/1.2 was modeled after this MC Rokkor 58/1.2. Go google. Cheers.
Pinholecamera's Rollei lens is oso legendary. Dunno if this is d version tat one of d lens is hand ground n very sought after?
The Revuenon 55/1.2 is a Tomioka lens design and made for Cosina/Revuenon.
Tomioka would later be absorbed into Yashica and then Kyocera.
I can imagine those early days of Jap lens making, driven by passion and hard work with the optical calculations and manual assembly/tweaking..
My Rollei 50/1.8, is the often disparaged
Made in Singapore version :bsmilie: (depending on who is asked)
The common 'story' is that it was a downspeced, poorer version of the Zeiss lens as the Singapore plant had problems with quality.....
I guess only those working there then will know for sure.
To me, the images that it can make speak for itself..
is this the lenses where a sempai was organising a group purchase ?
Yes, this is the one where MWP organised a group purchase (ended up only 3 ppl bought)
I am thankful for his initiative, else I would have sat on the fence and never got one.
A bit pricier because its very well converted to M42 mount, but worth it imo since its well done and now can be used on almost all cameras.
