Many bokehlicous ;p;p shots early in the morning.

Lovely shots from thoth, pinholecam, oceanpriest & Zeisser.:thumbsup:.

50, 85, 105 & 135mm has always been used for portrait shots but 85mm is the more popular focal length nowadays.

Jupiter 8 (50/2) at f2.8

I like this lens, dunno if its king or not (considering its price, more like "pauper" :D )
The Sonnar look with rounded OOF highlights (and aperture) for very little money.
Rounded aperture for a cheap 50mm is not so common on the 50/2 Jap lenses as most of those were considered 'cheap kit lens' and often had fewer blades to keep construction simple and cost down, even when they can be better optically (ie. sharper)
Almost like a mini J9 in how it renders, but with a shorter FL and associated working distances.

very nice.

Was shooting some Frisbee game and shot one of the players who was taking a break.
Sorry,I seldom shoot portraits.

Thanks bro. Find it hard to resist shooting it wide open even when doing closed ups. Haha.

Well that is what will happen when one gets the fever.

Why then buy large aperture lens if you are going to use them stopped down?

Only drawback is the thin depth of view at times, especially for people shots.

Nice shot on the guitar & solitary cat too. Nice B&W process on the cat picture. I like the leading composition on the guitar!!!

Many bokeh balls in the pic of the couple.

Thumbs up Thoth.
