I am besotted by the MC Rokkor but I cant use them on my Nikon.;(

Can it be used with MD-F mount adapter? I saw there are some selling in Amazon.
Or technically cannot due to flange distance?

1) F mount 46.5mm flange to film plane
2) MD mount 43.5mm flange to film plane

The F mount has a longer distance from flange to film plane. If a straight converter is used the MD lens will not be able to focus to infinity on the Nikon body. A special adapter is needed with build in correction optics to enable the minolta lens to focus to infinity on the Nikon body. The image quality with the correction optics is not desirable.

Nikon F mount is very difficult to mount other manufacturers lenses with straight adapters, with one exception, Leica R lenses converted to F mount.

Thanks for your explanation.
Means that I still can use Minolta md with Nikon via adapter, just that cannot focus to infinity? Plan to use for portrait, think will seldom use infinity.

Not just infinity, even a bit before. It depends on the lens. You might not be able to get sharp portraits depending on the focus distance.
