Blaming others and crying foul when they cannot get what they want

I think you did nothing wrong. It's only when the seller or buyer has made an arrangement (an offer, a viewing, etc) and he or she does not keep to the promise. That's when I think the guilty party sullies CS B&S reputation.

Nowadays I have buyers PMing me saying they are serious and will place an offer. This 'assurance' was non-existence several years ago, which I think may be due to a lower incidence of 'flying aeroplanes'

u missed the point. he said he will reply to the guy who wanted to make an offer but never did.

he made a promise to contact him tmr, but never did. now that is an error on his side. (check out the other thread. i'm only basing on the quotes there. no new quotes means i can only comment based on wadeva we know. i have no grudge against either person. jsut not happy when ppl take their own sweet time to reply or never reply. )

well, i too think that seller should at least reply interested parties if the lens is sold or not.
but seriously buyers shouldn't kick up a fuss on not getting a reply.
when u get no reply from the other party, just take it as no deal anymore, and move on. no point spending time waiting.

different ppl handle matters differently, no fixed rules on how they need to respond to the other party =)

A well balanced view. Don't put too much demands on one another other. Let enjoy this wonderful setup, call clubsnap and as another senior member put it 'there are so many types of people' with all walks of life in CS lets enjoy making friends and not enemies. As long as there is no cheating, let bygones be bygones and move on. There are so many members to chose to buy and sell things from, so just wait for another CS to post and buy or sell that item. It is a joy to meet people lets keep this in mind. Nobody is perfect, just move on.

and i agree on this point. just move on. i pmed alot of sellers before. no reply ones. also cant help it. i also made the error of leaving out 1 member, whom said he pmed. i'm sorry, but its also not easy to juggle another 10 other members asking for the product. i just let it go to highest bidder thats all.

in this case, you are not being rude to ignore such people.

i once put up an ad to sell a macbook charger...........

not here, somewhere else.

1 year after the date i put it up, i was still getting msgs in london, and even calls about it.

vomit blood and die, cannot even close the ad or comment on it......

no i think u missed the point. before deal was closed, got ppl enquire, he ignored, let ppl wait wait wait. according to the quotes from the other thread, it seems like he said he will reply but didnt bother to later on. no apologies, just aeroplane the other guy. i'm only basing this on the quotes shown. if new quotes appear, things will change of course.;)

after sold, shut thread its ok. but before deal leh? ppl enquire, is it our responsibilities as sellers to at least reply and pm?
TS might forgot or miss out for replying potential buyers, or choose to ignore some, we don't know, let just give him the benefit of doubt of this incident.
but I check the TS's B&S threads, of all the B&S threads only one did lock, to me it show lack of some basic courtesy, this is what I trying to bring it out.

btw, this is the only thread and posts he post outside B&S...

so power!!

can post a TFCD for XMM thread there, so don't need every two days upz the threads :bsmilie:

Well I it is good to hear from you guys out there. I react just only to clear what I am accuse of. When there are tens and twenties of PMs, I cannot answer all of them and sometimes I don't. With heavy work schedule it is sometimes it difficult to look at who have I got to answer when item is sold. Yes posting up it is sold is should be done, but it is also takes time and not easy to locate the past postings when you are heavy at work to meet the demands of your boss. So lets be happy as one Senior member put correctly and not blame others when there is no reply.
We are not full time salesman who can entertain all 'customer' in CS 24hrs/7days. We are working class people who can only give this much time as a hobby. When I post, all I could do to give a potential buyer is give him my only allocatd time and if the price is right I will release it at time to my convenience. After it is sold sorry guys, if I have no time, I have no time, I will have to let it be as it is and just carry on with my priorities. As long as there is an agreement between buyers and sellers, we should be more understanding towards one another. I will post the outcome if there is time. I don't think I am the only one. There are others who would not answer and I can live with the fact that we are all busy people and let it be.

If you do not reply to him about asking him to wait or you will give him a reply, it is the buyer problem if he waits. But if you do, it is only proper to give a reply back. Imagine if you are in the buyer shoes and skip all other offers because you waited for seller reply? I can really imagine how much cabby uncle suffers when there are people who call cab like this and got on another cab when it suddenly arrive with green light (unless the promised arrival time is too late, just call taxi company to complain and cancel order). Mostly, buyer should try contact seller after a few days of no reply. Seller just response with a simple apology and answer back will do (also remember to close thread and post item sold when free). Nothing else can be done after that, right?

i think cases like these should be reported to moderators.
what is the point of posting it here unless you want to publicly shame him? if that is your intention i would think this is not the platform to do it.

 this statement was said by me.

do you agree or disagree with the statement? dont understand why you quoted it.

:dunno:

Just FYI came across a couple of time on items listed in the classified section. Buyer post items for sale but without actually have the item indicated for sale. Their intention is to bring down the market price of the item which they are intending to purchase. It's really a waste of time for all of us. My recent encounter with this seller and his excuse is that he PM is full and last PM could not be sent because of the it. Below are the PMs that I've sent:

Wonder what happen to this guy who is the one crying foul and could not take rejection. Next time will not reply him at all. Spare some time to reply him in the beginning and yet just because I did not post sold he throw tantrum and throw accusation like this.

just ans me this simple question. i dun need anything else.

"did u reply to his last message where he left his number for u"

thats all we need to know. if u didnt, its error on ur side. stop shifting the arguement and throwing him into bad light. 1: he was just raising awareness on fly kite incidents. 2: if u didnt reply him, u dun have the courage to even apologise and ur still trying to shift blame on him.

the very least was to apologise to him for forgetting, if u sincerely did. is it that hard? i forgot one buyer, but i gave him a reasonable explanation regarding having too many buyers. and i also told him the final selling price and shared my advice that he wouldnt want to better the price for its not worth it. and i think he accepted the apology.

if u think he is crying foul, fine. post me evidence that says u have replied to his message. and that he couldn't buy the item and crying foul. all i see now is u didnt reply his message. thats all.

i base my comments on the facts given, not directed at any individual. if new quotes appear and says stuff differently i'll shift my stand.
