Some buyer-CSers are rather ridiculous when they report others and blame others if they don't get to buy what they want. If it is cheating, fair to report them by all means. But to demand that others must sell to them just because they think they PM 1st and deserved to get it before others and start accusing the seller of foul is really....
Sellers also faces frustration of agreeing on right price then meet buyers who then bargain incessantly and also some buyers who agree to meet and never turn up.
And now a new breed of buyers who if they could not get what they want and they start bad mouthing sellers and want to shame sellers in public??? Come on, grow up man and stop acting like a spoilt child. Look at the post below. Can you believe this is what actually is posted. Just because you could not get what you want you want to report sellers and shame sellers???

i think cases like these should be reported to moderators.
what is the point of posting it here unless you want to publicly shame him? if that is your intention i would think this is not the platform to do it.

am i right to assume the tan he spoke of is u?

well first: u shld had clearly stated to him its to the highest bidder. or else, it is general courtesy to message him that u are not interested in dealing. afterall he did make an effort to pm u. remember, we all have limited time. i make it a point to respond as fast as i can to any buyer.

according to his qutoe from PM
"Hi Tan,
Do you actually have the lens for sale? I PMed you right after you post your lens for sale and you asked for my number which I've replied promptly. I was not contacted at all and you indicated in your new post it's reserved for viewing. Kindly at lease keep interested parties inform if you are not selling/ already sold or maybe don't even have the lens for sale. Don't wash each other time. THANKS! "

he pmed u, u didnt reply him, u let him sit there wait wait wait when he could possibly find another seller etc. u let it go on reserve without informing him, effectively wasting his time. as far as i can tell, it is on ur side where the error being: he made an enquiry, u ignored. u let it go to another buyer without letting the rest know, or giving them a chance to give their offer.

sure its ur item. but its general courtesy thats all. i'm not saying u are wrong. perhaps tat offer was attractive. but at least keep the rest updated. its not nice to waste ppl time.

my views are solely comments made based on the quotes that was shown. if new evidence comes in, my stand will change.

edit: and my stand is u shldnt waste others time if they messaged. just make an effort to return a pm.

everyone's definition of how clubsnap B&S should be run is different.

i don't think you did anything wrong in my book, but if you think about it, you are also unhappy when you cannot get what you want. so place yourself in the other party's shoes.. and give and take.

让一步,海阔天空.

cs should be a happy place, just live and let live - everyone can see what is going on there.. so why worry about xxx saying yyy about you, if your conscience is clear? :)

there are all sort of people around. why bother?

Well I it is good to hear from you guys out there. I react just only to clear what I am accuse of. When there are tens and twenties of PMs, I cannot answer all of them and sometimes I don't. With heavy work schedule it is sometimes it difficult to look at who have I got to answer when item is sold. Yes posting up it is sold is should be done, but it is also takes time and not easy to locate the past postings when you are heavy at work to meet the demands of your boss. So lets be happy as one Senior member put correctly and not blame others when there is no reply.
We are not full time salesman who can entertain all 'customer' in CS 24hrs/7days. We are working class people who can only give this much time as a hobby. When I post, all I could do to give a potential buyer is give him my only allocatd time and if the price is right I will release it at time to my convenience. After it is sold sorry guys, if I have no time, I have no time, I will have to let it be as it is and just carry on with my priorities. As long as there is an agreement between buyers and sellers, we should be more understanding towards one another. I will post the outcome if there is time. I don't think I am the only one. There are others who would not answer and I can live with the fact that we are all busy people and let it be.

Excuses. It's not like taking time to check out your pms and promptly declaring the item is sold in your thread requires a great deal of your time. Why not waste a little time of yours to promptly declare that it's sold than to let many others waste a great deal of their time waiting for you?

i agree with this. even if i do make a mistake like missing a pm, which i just did, i made an effort to apologise to the poor fellow who was waiting like nuts:) and sorry to that guy. i think i really missed ur one. the rest i all pmed already

very complicated.. catch no ball..

anyway.. CS shd increase PM size a little lah.. 100 is like too little..

do yourself and others a favor, lock all your B&S threads when the deal is closed. so others don't have to waste time PM or sms you, and you also will not need to waste time reply.

this is basic courtesy in B&S, seem many people already forgotten.

in this case, you are not being rude to ignore such people.

Maybe to make it more obvious, indicate that it is sold before locking the thread. But if you did that and people still msg you....

no i think u missed the point. before deal was closed, got ppl enquire, he ignored, let ppl wait wait wait. according to the quotes from the other thread, it seems like he said he will reply but didnt bother to later on. no apologies, just aeroplane the other guy. i'm only basing this on the quotes shown. if new quotes appear, things will change of course.;)

after sold, shut thread its ok. but before deal leh? ppl enquire, is it our responsibilities as sellers to at least reply and pm?

Personally, I think its basic courtesy to reply to all inquiries. But with the exception of cheating other people of their money, there are no hard and fast rule how everyone should conduct their BnS activities.

I think you did nothing wrong. It's only when the seller or buyer has made an arrangement (an offer, a viewing, etc) and he or she does not keep to the promise. That's when I think the guilty party sullies CS B&S reputation.

Nowadays I have buyers PMing me saying they are serious and will place an offer. This 'assurance' was non-existence several years ago, which I think may be due to a lower incidence of 'flying aeroplanes'

well, i too think that seller should at least reply interested parties if the lens is sold or not.
but seriously buyers shouldn't kick up a fuss on not getting a reply.
when u get no reply from the other party, just take it as no deal anymore, and move on. no point spending time waiting.

different ppl handle matters differently, no fixed rules on how they need to respond to the other party =)

Yes, that will be a nice gesture on the seller's part. I do reply to individual bidders whether my item is already sold or not. However I put a disclaimer in my WTS thread that PMs bearing ridiculous bids (aka Lowballers - where did this description come from anyway?) will be ignored. LOL
