any BBF experts here can enlighten me on the variable focusing distance? There's only mention of 0.8metrs for sharp objects...how about the other distance?

Huh? 0.8m for sharp objects? I think the 0.8m is the min focusing distance. It doesn't guarantee you a sharp photo. To focus ... you estimate the distance of the subject then set the distance accordingly on the camera.
