Hi There. i have a problem with my dvx 102b. I get this black stripes all over the screen for the tapes that i record on the minidv tape. (See link)

Can i check what could be wrong and how can i rectify this?

Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

kcbox. thank you for your recommednation. But i would like to find a fix to this as solid state upgrade is too costly.

I think if the above tape is recorded when the tape head/tape is dirty, there is nothing much you can do. cleaning the tape head of your DVX will only help future recording.
Do regular tape head cleaning and try not to recycle tape will minimize tape dropout.
you can send to panasonic service centre at bukit merah to check the tape head if cleaning it doesn't help.

amateurshooter, thanks for your advice.

all, Can i check a few questions?
1. How much does it cost to service the tape head in Singapore?
2. What are the turn around time?
3. Where is the service centre in singapore?

.
Hi Hahatan,

Once I send my DVC62 for servicing to replace its LCD screen.
The turnaround time was about a week.

The service centre is somewhere in Bukit Merah.

Perhaps you can give them a call and ask them about the price to clean or replace the tape head.
Replacing the tape head may not be cheap.
So, be prepared.
