Very beautiful!

I just noticed after finishing my first roll of film.

A crack line inside my viewfinder!! Didn't even notice while taking pictures of my kids.

Is this a common problem?! I didn't bang my 2 day old camera and I see this!

Sigh.... Will they repair on the spot or change a new one for me?

I am truly sorry for you, that is sibeh heart pain siahz

If the camera got no dent or mark (suggesting that you drop it), then it should be covered by warranty. Tell schmidt that their camera got design flaw, can lagi crack by itself wan!!! that is called "defect in workmanship" or "design flaw" under typical terms of warranty.

If the camera got dent or mark, they might say you drop it, so its your problem. But I dun think they be so bad lar.

In fact, if it is 2 days, you might go back to shop, but hor...shopkeeper might taichi to schmidt. Shopkeepr gongfu is very gao wan... they might even tell you they got no more stock to replace....better go schmidt ... faster to fix blah blah blah

Its very disappointing that this happened as i was just starting to really enjoy it..

The crack is only inside the viewfinder, cannot feel it outside.

Never see this happen before...if u brought brand new and this is due to a defect in workmanship...don't worry...should be easy to ask the shop to replace new one...if not, Schimdt should able to fix it by sending it back to their Hong Kong workshop or Solms.

Schimdt marketing send my M9 back to Solms for repair under warranty when my shuttle seized...fully covered...Schimdt marketing (Leica) number: 6275 7888, look for Andrew.

So sorry to hear about this.
Concur with hookonclassic. Go to shop, then to Schimdt.

Just left schmidt.

Best they can do is to order the part and repair for free.

Sigh, thot can do a 1 for 1 swap. At least I still get to use my mp while they order the parts.

Seems like they dun stock up on MP....

Very nice people at schmidt tho...

by the way, how much and where did you get your MP? any idea when will the black one be coming in?

No idea when the black one is coming in. In fact, I believe that a lot of shops dun stock MPs preferring to sell on order basis.

Just had some pics developed from FOTO Hub. Sad and ashamed to say that my success rate is very bad (about 20% for the first roll and 40% for the 2nd row which is B/W)

I have very inconsistent exposure due to my over reliance of AE on my M8.2. Some pics are out of focus with wrong metering even though some were taken at the same place.

Anyone can advise on how to be consistent ?

Thanks

well I will try my best to explain in words ^_^"

the meter on the MP is ambient light metering... by guesstimating from what you see with your eye, in general if there are not facing any form of strong light source in the direction of where you are shooting, exposure should be spot on.

But when dealing with some form of direct light, or someone or something has a big white surface area that is reflecting light, you will have to be more be careful with the metering. Usually it will be underexposed. In this case, I usually meter it to the subject directly at very close range, or point to somewhere that will give roughly the same metering as your subject without the glaring light.

hope this helps :) practice makes perfect!
