Black "G"

If you need one and have the budget, then get it lor.. otherwise, then don't need to buy it.

Few things to consider when buying "G" lens is purely because of the weight... if you think 1.4kg is too heavy then don't even think about buying one as what is the point of getting it and sitting in dry cabi.

Thanks for your advice, I do think I will use it despite it weight, but I do seem to use wide angle more than zoom, mainly getting the 70/80-200mm f/2.8 range for portrait and model cat walk/event shoots, but this are for hobby only, that why I still not sure I want to spend the money to get this piece of lens from KEH, it's not a must, but it helps.

Just wonder anyone bring 70/80-200mm f/2.8 when go on travel or not :think: . I think 1.4Kg is too heavy for traveling.:sweat:

I tested the 80-200 f2.8 APO G (black) and tamron SP 2x TC, it works fine...

I always bring about 3 or 4 lenses when I go back to sin and 2 SLR bodies, but will leave my tripod back in Sydney as I have a tripod in Singapore.

3 or 4 lenses and 2 slr body plus its accessories will amount close to 5~7kg.

The 80-200 too expensive for me. I targetting the 200mm and then, buy a new tele 2X and I got a 400 F/5.6 for bird photo. New pricing for a 200mm F/2.8 is ard 900 USD. For 2nd hand, bid 500 USD? :think:

Hmmm ... the pics in this ad may not be of the actual lens that is on auction :think: . This seller sold another black G last month and used the same pics.

Very very nice.. :thumbsup: possible to post some of the 100% crop photos..
One thing I observed on Minolta lens is that the image is not that sharp at 100% crop as compare to Leica lens..
Wonder if this lens will match the Leica lens..

Ops... no.. definitely NO!! Frankly I don't care which lens brand is better.. just keen to look at 100% crop of this lens.
I've seen Leica lens 100% crop and I'm impress

Like to see how Minolta top range lens perform..
