I first knew about Billingham bags when I watched DigitalRevTV. The presenter Kai uses his Billingham almost all the time, and I suspect the cameraman Lok owns one too. I began to appreciate its classic, understated looks. Not as flashy as a Crumpler and not as uninteresting as a LowePro. It goes well with both casual and formal outfits. Better still, it doesn't shout "camera bag" and can be used for other purposes on non-shooting days.

So, as my gear outgrows my Crumpler 5MDH, I am seriously considering a Billingham. The Hadley series looks the best to me. I am not sure if I should go for large or small, or whether the CFO at home will allow it, but I want to hear from the owners. Anyway, my setup is straightforward: Canon 60D, EFS 15-85mm (normally mounted), EF 70-200mm f/4L, EF 50mm f/1.4 (upcoming). All lenses will have hoods reverse-mounted. No flash yet. I also carry my set of Lens Pens and hope to bring my rocket blower if it can fit.

What will it be?

I would recommend the 307. Great bag it is and can fit your gear comfortably with rooms to spare for the future upgrade. Using one now and loving it! Have another 107 too if I don't want to carry too much. Can consider. :)

Yeah, the Hadley series would be too small if you were to reverse mount your hoods.

Thank you for the feedback.

I am a little surprised that both of you recommend against getting a Hadley. By simply comparing the internal capacities of the bags, it seems like the Hadley Large should be able to accommodate. Here are the numbers:
5MDH: 5,000 cc
Hadley Small: 3,367 cc
Hadley Pro: 5,040 cc
Hadley Large: 6,426 cc

As I've mentioned before, I can fit my entire kit including lens hoods reverse mounted into the 5MDH, with leftover depth and height. I should be able to better utilise a slimmer, shorter but wider bag. Any thoughts?

It'd be nice if someone who owns the Hadley Pro or Hadley large post a couple of pics of their bags with camera gear inside. :)

I would like to take a picture with my gears in my Hadley pro but my com is down and I'm using my iPad to surf the net. I can't fit my 17-40 with hood reverse mounted. It really stretches the bag a lot.

i think they are against getting the hadley cause once u put ur gear in...the bag looks like it has a beer belly.

I think that is entirely possible! :)

In case anyone is interested, this video reviews the Hadley Pro nicely.
