the F3 is a super Under rated bag. based on my own experience, there is really alot you can fit inside it (if you arrange them well)
the heaviest i tried?
main compartment: 30D+Grip+17-40L (attached), + 50 1.4 and 85 1.8 (stacked) + 135L (barely fitting inside the divider slot) + GF LS II
side pocket: 580EX (1 side) + a small story book
small compartment near buckle area: 2 CPLs + blower + lens pen

That is quite a load! Wow now i'm really considering that bag.

Sorry folks not sure if you guys can advice, I'm looking around for a new bag to replace my Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home. I don't want something bigger but somthing more compact. The width is just nice, at about 20cm. Basically its to fit a D200 w/grip attached with a 18-200VR and enough space for a SB600.

Think of something like the Domke J-3 (700-J3B) or the Billingham PressTop 206, just not sure if all that can fit. Home to get some advice from owners out there.

Hi folks, I managed to find something that takes care of the above mentioned. I got myself a Billi PressTop 106... It fits the D200 w/ grip and 18-200 attached. and with abit of spare space.

 very classy bag...

Congrats on your new purchase.

go CP and check it out.. but buy online if you can, it is much cheaper
but this bag has a small limitation though, any 7x mm filter sized lens will be a tight fit on the side dividers of the main compartment.

my tokina 12-24 can go in, but just barely.. (like the 135L) :sweatsm:

also, the canvas material is slightly water resistant but not weatherproof.

i got my first domke! loving it. bought the f1 from cathay last weekend. looks good as well. stuffed too much into it that i ended up having to take things out because it was too heavy. :D

hi there, will be heading to london come june( thats quite some time away, but ive got to save up for it =p ),was wondering if you guys know of any shops in that area that sell reasonably priced billinghams..been to the billingham webpage, some dealers that theyve stated includes kingsley,etc..wondering if those are like the "harvey normal" equilivalent of what we have in spore, price wise.
thanks!
sorry for the side track =p,now back to the topic,
im currently using a domke d 4af,really nice bag that is both roomy, and stylish.
can fit in a d80 + grip, with a 28-70 f2.8 attached, 2 extra lenses, sb600, a book, notebook, the usual lens cleaning equip, and the side pocket allows me to fit a 1 liter nalgene bottle in. perfect. =)

the missus was in london in nov. most of the places in the uk mags will have billingham. the price is really attractive compared to what u pay for in singapore. however, they sell at rrp nonetheless.

i was tempted but didn't want to spend so much on it that time. ended up still buying a domke. :)

i fit my camera with the 24-70 with 2 580 mk iis, diffuser, offshoe cord, batteries, etc etc and still got space for more.

I 'invested' in a Billingham a couple of years back. Just a simple Hadley because I really like the non-camera bag look of the Hadley series, which is great for travelling around in cities. Many non-camera enthusiasts are pretty suprised when they realise that the bag is actually a camera bag itself.

What more amazing is how durable it has been. They have fantastic build quality (at least when I got it a few years back) and I'm really confident plonking my cams into it. The leather straps and brass buckles are very high quality and the canvas is really well treated.

For complete pack rat versatility however, a Domke would be very nice, but a great alternative to a Billingham (if the tan and leather brit look isn't for you) would be a crumpler bag. Those are great value and also don't scream out 'I'm a camera bag please snatch me and my Canon/Nikon/EOS1/D3 away' ;).

Don't know about other CS-ers but I find the "look" of the Crumpler camera series very easy to spot. Thicker than the normal Crumpler notebook bags, and with the distinct twin sliplock loops on either side.

I used a billingham... carry it in and out for the past two years.... never change or look at other bag....

a wonderful product... worth it..

any idea where i can get a price list of domke bags in spore as compared to USA?

Recommend the Billingham Packington which is a really versatile bag, I use it as an everyday bag for work (some colleagues asked if it was a Hunting World bag...haha), and the occasional weekend shooting.

It's roomy enough to store my IBM X-series laptop, 40D+grip, 17-40 lens (detached), 70-200 lens (detached), flash, 50 prime & plenty of room in the 2 front & 2 side pockets for portable hard disk, handphone, PDA, keys, memory cards, cleaning kit etc...

From the list of equipment you have in the bag, it must be quite heavy. I have a Hadley Small and bought a 445 recently (slightly bigger than your Packington).

I have a 350D, 40D+grip, 17-55 and 70-200 f/2.8 IS+1.4 Extender, 430EX and 580EXII flash, portable storage device, GaryFong LSII, a manfrotto 488RC2 ball head, and the usual batteries, filters, lens cleaning kits, memory cards and a 15.4" notebook.

Because of the weight, I will only use it for shooting events that allows me to put the bag aside (and don't have to carry it during shooting).

The 445 is great other than the weight. I still remember the first time I use the bag, it was raining quite heavily and I have to carry the bag on my shoulder and walk for quite a while. The equipment inside remain bone dry. All I have to do is to wipe the bag with a cloth and it looks like new again.

Highly recommend Billingham for its built and design. For the large bags, you have to expect to carry a heavy bag (if you don't mind the weight).

I felt the same until I saw one. Appreciated the quality. Lasts a lifetime. Most of all, very discreet and does not shout "ROB ME!" when used on travels.

Also the design never ages. All other camera bags seems to come and go. Make sure you get a Hadley range bag as the insert is removable and can use the bag as any other bag including computer notebook tote.

If you can get it cheap there. There is always buyers here.

Why makes someone buy these brands instead of Lowepro? Price must definitely not be an issue judging by the premium that these brands command. My wife is in london and she asked me whether i want a Billingham bag or not. After looking at the bags, i don't know whether it is worth getting or not. :dunno:

So what are the options for getting a Billi here in Singapore?

BnS has very few and far between, and other than that, which retailers can I go to get my hands on a piece? Would online still be a better option?

U can get it from Mr Chan of 96912577. Got a hadley pro at $310 compared to $505 at what k13 is selling.

OP in SLS also have some Billy on display. I saw a 445 and a 550 the other day.

Oooh. Very tempting. Will get in touch with him after taking a look at the bags and deciding the right size for me. Right now it looks like the 335 or the Hadley Original.

(Here's what I want to fit in: D200 + grip + 18-200 (attached) + 50mm + SB 600) - And I like the bag to be a bit roomy, so do you think the above are good choices?

Thanks for the input!
