just got a billingham hadley pro from pkchan on saturday..

Nice bag! Though a bit squeezy for camera gears.. Think i will use it more often as casual bag.. :bsmilie: It even comes with a dustbag.. machiam like our ladies' burberry bags etc..:bsmilie:

Bought the Sp40 too.. yeah the padding feels good, and the cloth strap looks better with the sp40 too..

Oh..and did anyone notice.. inside bag..theres a square patch with Martin billingham's signature sewn on it.. with the bag's own serial number and a 2d barcode? i think its quite cool.. :bsmilie:

Love the bag!

congrat on your purchase...

what 2D barcode? what Martin Billingham's Signature? y mine dun have? :dunno:

they are trying to phase out canvas and now trying to introuduce fibernyte in all bags.

my 306 and packington is in canvas while my hadley pro is in fibernyte

mine is canvas leh..
pkchan says he dont bring in fibrenyte for the khakhi hadley pro when I said I was looking for the fibrenyte..

my hadley pro is sage and it wasnt bought from pk chan

got in in uk when i went back home

Why don't you guys just go to his place to have a feel of the bags yourself.Or maybe you can consider viewing and buying from OP.

just bought a L2 today... very nice surprise!

i can fit in a 5D2 with 24-105L attached and a 70-200 f4 L relatively easy.

its a bit of a tight fit, but definitely does not feel like the canvas is forced and stretched.

i also fit on an avea 3 which came with my hadley pro. i believe this can contain a small flash.

very happy! i can travel around with a compact sized bag. the front/back pockets can hold CPL+spare batt+CF cards.

L2 is highly recommended and not just for rangefinders it was originally designed for. the slots at the side for avea pouches is a major plus.

EDIT: bought from OP as i need it urgently for a trip next week. mr chan unfortunately no stock. but the price difference between OP and mr chan isn't very significant for this case.

ok seems like a flash can't go into avea 3... nvm i will get an avea 5 in the event i really feel the need to get about with a flash.

so far, i'm more into available light so not a major consideration. must let pocket recover 1st :bsmilie:

ya I was there ard that time. I saw u holding 5Dmk2 right...

Excellent write-up, lovely pictures, black looks cool too

The L2 is still my all-time favorite, about 700g empty, and I have kept my Hadley Pro now for trips where I need to bring more stuff, and the L2 as my walk-about. I have used my L2 bag so much that the leather sides are showing lots of wear now, is already loose in "ready" position (the bigger hole), and the khaki canvas showing some slight wear. But this is the way I want it, well-used.

It looks small, but it is surprisingly roomy. Leica did have the same version made by Billingham for them called the Leica Combination Bag, with the pocket having a zipper, and of course the Leica logo. I like this one because of the zipper (I can find a way to hide the Leica logo), but it costs a lot more, so I stick with my L2.

u mean in the ready position the studs can easily be in and out or do you mean when you put in the tighten position and its still loose?

just wondering

Only in the ready position, very easy to come out now. In tighten position, still ok, it is hardly in tighten position anyway. But it's been many years of use already, open close many times every day. Still great, however.

And to see the difference between L2 and Leica M Combination bag, click on attachments in this page :

Anyway, both are nice.
