Here is my experience.
I pm seller for lens availability, wher to deal etc.
Agree at a price.
Xchange contacts to arrange deal.
On wed,Seller agrees to deal at 5pm Thurs 22/3 so im suppose lens is reserved for viewing & deal with me.
On thurs at 12noon, Seller claims he need urgent money and so he had sell the lens off. Wtf?

This Seller has no sense of responsibility & credibility.

At least he told you before hand.

IMO, you were just hit by bad luck. Until the actual point of sale where I exchange money for goods, I always assume to be tentative any date/time arrangement for anything I buy off a BnS seller. As the previous poster pointed out, at least the seller told you beforehand.

Wahh.. if you both supported this kind of dealing then i have nothing to say.

still not that bad, maybe he got a better offer.. buyer want to buy low, seller want to sell high.

At least he didnt fly you kite while u waiting at the designated point.

Well to an extend that is true. there is definitely be much worse off than this.. *sigh*

i guess it's not exactly "supporting" this kind of behaviour, but there's nothing anyone can do to control how a seller should behave or how he should sell his stuff.

At least he had the courtesy to inform you 5 hours earlier instead of wasting your time to go to the meeting location.

This happens some what often. I encountered these type of people when I am selling and when I am buying. Do I feel good about it? No, nevertheless I would stop short of calling them irresponsible or not credible unless there is a documented purchase order or deposit paid. Just arranging to meet up to view does not constitute a purchase. Some people can meet up and after viewing decided not to buy or to cut price. They are people who asked me to hold for two weeks for they to get their salary and then to tell me they are no longer interested. Hence I no longer hold for anyone. There are bad sellers and bad buyers too. Plus what you encounter is not really that serious.

Hm...come to think of it,I recall my own experience last week.On Thursday,a guy said he can only deal on sat & agreed on my buying price.then come Friday,I got offer which the buyer can deal immediately.Less than an hour later it was a done deal.Out of courtesy,I text my other buyer whom I was suppose to deal on sat,tat the lens was sold.Your situation is not that bad,at least he inform you about it like 5 hours ahead.take heart & take proper precaution when dealing.Cheers!

Thanks for everyone quote. Have a good day everyone.

chill out bro! i had the exact experience today, except that I was told 3hrs prior to my travelling to meet the seller after my nightclass. had the (almost) same arrangement as you do,the thing is I was told that the lens was sold off on a 'first come 1st serve' basis. i was wondering then;so I'm not the '1st' one as I had informed the night before that I want that lens. of course, questions remain unanswered as my text was not replied soon after.

nevermind, but the impression remains since no reply was further received:thumbsd: . i'll remember this for sure. let's move on:)

Hardly can find good deal in CS if u do ur homework.

If you are serious with an item and are happy with the price, get the deal done as soon as possible. Sometimes, some jokers will offer higher price and the seller will be in a fix! Of course there are gentlemen who will not even consider higher price if he has promised to deal. Same with some buyers, who will want to check for better deals with other sellers even he has confirmed a deal!
