best video for shooting at night

I need to shoot at night, was thinking the jvc series with harddisk as hey are the easiest in terms of transfering data.

Wanna spend around 700 bucks simple stuff not for still images just video.

hi. not sure what you can get for 700 bucks. But looking at most online reviews, ppl agree that canon is the best cam for night shoot. JVC....only their latest HD cams are good enough and those definitely dont cost 700 bucks. I have a pana GS500. Its not that good with low light.

what are the recording media on canon. harddisk or sd? price range

for your price range i dont know. Overall, canon has cams of different recording media. look at canon website. There are those that record to DVD or miniDV. depends on what you want. I wouldnt go for DVD. most preferred is miniDV. for price range, i usually walk around sim lim or courts to look at the price. makes me feel like a little kid in a candy store too. haahha

how much you paid for the gs500? I think i can find one in a shop.

frankly consumer grade cams will not do very well due to the small cmos/ccd they have. U definately need additional lighting unless u like to do those night shoot green green kinda shoot. Hmm so I think u should chk out wat yr budget can fetch first can compare the specs of those ba..
