best travel lens for FX body

The best lens to carry with you on a trip is the Nikon AF-S DX zoom Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8G IF-ED check review by

When you are traveling the lighter the better this is a very small, compact and fast lens from Nikon full frame standard zoom range which is adequate for most of your daily needs. The 24-70mm f2.8 is better a bit bulky and heavy for use as a travel lens. It's will be okay if you don't have many other things to carry.

Awesome choice... ;)

My opinion will be

24/1.4
85/1.4

Best if you have 2 bodies

The best travel lens on a FX body is the new AF-S 18-35mm for me, lightweight and nice range. :)

Anyone using some kind of Pancake lens?..

50mm 1.8 AIS. This lens is always attach in my D7000 almost all the time.

Cool and the D7000 is a nice FX body.

Thanx..
Also good when capturing video clips with the very smooth focus ring. I am also happy with the result when reversing the lens for macrophotography.

Inside my traveling bag: d7000 with 50mm 1.8AIS +reverse ring and18-105 kit lens.

Duh I was on a kind note of replying. Not being saarcastic.

I used to use the 7000. Sold off earlier as I knew the price will drop like hell.
Now with 600 and maybe get a 7100 in near future. A 1.5x and 1.3x crop is nice with 70 200.

Well I brought both the D600 and D7000 to Sydney last quarter of 2012. A 18-200dx for my D7000, 24-70 f2.8 for my D600.
Know it's kinda overkill but the D7k I lent to a friend so I just take the 24-70 around with me.

I was telling you that the guy you quoted was being sarcastic, not that *you* are sarcastic. Please try to comprehend what you read before replying. If it was directed at you, I would have said "you" and not "he".
