my definition of new set means ppl who don't like it, use for <1week then wanna sell away already. if can tahan then y not right? anyway there are new stocks now @ mscolor, just got equote from them. $699 though, with card/reader/case/batt.
yup no change. lol. they were still proclaiming in their equote that they sold 500sets within 2months.. haha.

mscolor nvr reply equote.
Save $20 and go to AP and look for bryan. Avoid all the older guys there who kpkb at all cost!![]()
I tend to believe AP is still the best value for the time being. MS color may need to get back on the horse to win customer. The lure of LX3 may not last any longer due to the saturation of the mkt.
never mind just go take pics....!! cam bodies meant to buy and use and obsolete after that.
lens is a different story.
anyway my new lx3 will be my "compact mode" cam (backup to my dslr) when i go travelling!!! Previously used to be a ixus 850, but that had no manual function at all. lx3 has pretty much all the basic manual modes of a dslr!! love it!
now just have to resist temptation to "upgrade" my lx3 with all the coolest accessories (like leather case that cost 200+++ heh)
Thought I would share my purchase experience here. Picked up a black LX-3 this past sunday from Bryan at AP. Paid $680 cash which included the camera, case, screen protector, 3rd party battery, lexar 4gb SDHC card w/ included card reader, and mini tripod. Inquired about getting an 8gb card and was quoted a $10 top-up. I tried to reconfigure the package by swapping out the screen protector and mini tripod for the higher capacity card, but AP was not willing.
Anyway I was happy to take the package as offered. My only concern was that there was no packaging seal to indicate if the box had ever been opened or not. Maybe this is standard practice here in Singapore (can anyone comment?) but if I get a boxed product, particulary electronics, and there is no factory seal, then I get a bit suspicious. In this case the box looked new as did it's contents, but at the same time, it could have been opened, handled and put back in the box, without anyone the wiser. Sometimes the folding of the plastic bags is crumpled as opposed to crisp and sharp, or the tape used to keep the plastic wrap closed appears to have been opened and resealed, and these things raise an eyebrow.
That being said I am entirely happy with this camera and all it offers. Coming as a DSLR user, this is the point and shoot I have been waiting for. I will point out however that within 24 hours of purchase I noticed a dead or stuck pixel on the LCD, which I have posted in a separate thread.

The exchange was a success. I posted about it just now in the other thread since don't want to get off topic here.
