Best deals for Lumix Lx-3

Damm should have gone to AMK lol alittle far for me!

You got the case + Batt for just $30 more

I got the silly extra 4GB card I'd rather have the case but considering I am getting the lens adaptor don't think that would fit in a case. So ok lah got extra 4gb.

Any way you want to wait for price to drop or get better deal worth maybe $10-20 more you'll never buy the damm toy lah when you do eventually get a good deal got new toy come out liaos time to upgrade !!!

hahaha. true... hmm. anyway when going to amk i think florence still the best person to deal with..

This thread is becoming MS Color discussion.

Someone mentioned Max Photo in Chinatown and I simply give them a call, reserve 1 set and picked up in the evening (2 days ago).

LX3 + 4GB card (Lexar Platinum II) + case (original for LX3) = $680.

Pay another $18 for the 3rd party spare battery.

They don't have the screen protector but I am fine with it. Within walking distance is DOML which is the main distributor of Martin Fields screen protector $16.95 (which I like to use). Got it done too.

That's all, no fuss and easy. Look for Kenny, the outlet is just at the exit of Chinatown MRT station (Pagoda Street).

Someone mentioned that never trust the shops in Chinatown. Max Photo is a long established shop in Singapore, most well known with their shop in Centrepoint (with the display of all Nikon vintage series). If you walk into the shop (Chinatown), they have all the cameras on display, you can easily take a close look and try them out.

This is also the 1st time I bought a camera from Max Photo as someone in CS mentioned about it. Happy with the purchase, no fuss and nice sales guy (Kenny).

:bsmilie::bsmilie:Im the 1st to but from Max Photo @$6XX with all the free b and got a Org battery at $45 from Richard the boss sister-in-law. I know them quite well. Worth buying from them and Godd Services too:thumbsup: I have ask a few for this thread to get from them:sweatsm:

i usually get my cams from parisilk. but always call for a verbal quote first (i usually call transit shop) to see if what they are offering is attractive. remember to take down the name of the person of whom you've spoken to (obtained quote from). then feel free to go down to any other branches (check to see that they've stock there) i.e. HV and tell them to cut the sales talk as you've already obtained a quote for $XXX and for what freebies. i find that their prices are almost always one of the lowest....only thing is, to enjoy the low prices, have to pay using either cash/NETS only.

parisilk... their prices are almost always one of the lowest..

Agree, most of their prices are on-par, and some even cheaper than more reputable shops like MS Colours. Anyway, just called PS today. Their LX3 going for $686 including GST, with a 4Gb card and original case. Best thing - you can pay by NETS!

Talking abt deals, the original adapter for the LX3 is $39 from Alan Photo (no big deal but Song Bros qouted me $59 . . .blurdy pricks . . .) , and original case is only $25 from AP too = )

Honestly, one would get a LX3 for its compactness that delivers very acceptable image quality. Over-accessorising it would defeat its purpose. Might as well get an entry-level dSLR instead?

Totally Agreed.... :)

Got my LX-3 from Florence (MS Color main store) a few days ago, 699 with 4GB, $99 case, screen protector and extra 3rd party battery. A bit sad cannot reduce price, but can't blame them much. She was quite misleading with the facts though, didn't seem to know much about the camera and had to grab a brochure to check out the facts.

She told me optical zoom was 4x, that all 3 resolutions used 10 megapixels and some other things. Also told me OEM battery was better than original battery since it had double capacity, which was true but surely the original battery could hold the charge better, as many of you reported here. I felt she was a bit hard-selling it to me, since she asked me to sign warranty when I was still asking about the set.

Her service was good, very friendly, but I would recommend prospective buyers to check all their facts beforehand rather than relying on shopkeeper's knowledge. Very happy with my LX-3 by the way, but I still have to learn to work with all those manual controls :embrass:

Maybe thats how panasonic earns thier extra $ and also its a hobby nothing wrong with shooting with an extra wide angle for that different perspective or a filter to shorten the post processing time note entry lvl SLRs do not come with 24mm or 18mm lenses achievable by the LX3 by adding a cheap converter it would cost a whole heap more for an entry lvl dslr and than gettin' a decent wide lens.

I've seen ppl modifying WRX impreza to an extent that it cost more than a WRX Sti same thing here!

Nothing beats the feeling of producing images as good or if not better than other photogs using dslrs with a compact prosumer!

Than again to each his own what I can't understand are those ppl who over accessorize their cars makes it look super "beng" lol

sorry, MS main store refers to the one in Blk 711 right?

finally got my lx-3.. like what previous buyer say.. doubt they will lower the price now since its selling so well.. got it at $699 with 4gb card, case, screen protector, extra battery and high speed card reader. =)

ok price since it comes with a high speed card reader...

i ended up having to go sim lim and getting a card reader myself at $14....

i agreed with you at the fact that there is no point of over-accessorizing the compact camera to make it to perform as a dslr...(performance)
But for some lx3 owners, for instance, me:) love the design, and then the performance...
i want something to look good and perform well...(i would compare a Macbook to a PC notebook than cars) What is the difference between a canon dslr or nikon dslr or pimp up LX3 at around 10- 20m away... To me, that is what i am paying extra for... of cos, the LX3 performance (second to that).

I just bought the LX3 yesterday. Before buying, I have checked stores like MS Color, Parisilk and MAX Photo for prices. I think pricing have stabilized cos all offers $680 incl. GST with a standard Lumix case, 4gig Lexar SDHC card and one may even incl. a cheapo screen protector.

With some thoughts, I got it from MS Color for $699 incl. gst with case, 4gig Lexar SDHC, a 3rd party battery and screen protector. Not really fantastic but it's reasonable price.

Hope this helps.

Sir, the $99 case you got was the DMW-CLX3 /DMC-LX3 http://cgi.ebay.com/OFFICIAL-Panasonic-Lumix-leather-case-DMW-CLX3-DMC-LX3_W0QQitemZ360090766843QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item360090766843&_trkparms=72%3A1205|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 or was it this http://www.ukoptics.co.uk/panasonic-dmwdclx3-leather-case-for-lx3-lx2-p-1039.html? I have gone all over singapore looking for the first one and its either they dont know what it is and always give instead the second one or there is no stock

The first case is very nice. Are they offering this case?

i have yet to hear of people getting the first case with the price of 680+....
agree that this case is very nice... but original price is US98!!!1 wow... accessories ARE expensive....

Yes, it is very nice, exact same as the Leica ones. But this is not Panasonic S'pore bundle with LX3 purchase. The first ones, I think is full leather and bundle ones is just..... plastic.
