Beginners Outing(Part 29)-Central Promontory on the 17 September (PHOTOS)

Hmm... I'm quite confused how you can see the tilted horizon.
From what I can see, it's not tilted :dunno:

Yes skylover, too much on the right. Prob could be balanced if you had more on the left also, but still, a lot could be cut off (right side).
Wildcat i agree on the issue about the right side. Its not doing any constructive to the whole picture.

If you see properly, the horizon has tiltled at RHS.
Jacobs and wildcat: I think the main issue why its tilted is because when I merge 4 photos together. I totally forgot to tilt it back. I just straight away crop it down. lolx..

BBB!

Tokina 11-16 2.8 for you?:devil::devil:
lolx.. not now not now.. soon.. soon.. Christmas present you know what to do ar.. =/
Thanks Bro :)

I have a Tokina11-16 but changed lens to 50mm because the sky too hazy and not so interesting to take wide with my exisitng newbie skill .
Was wondering how to take pics with dramatic sky , going to read up on some book on the use of filters
hahha.. i can let you play with my filter to have a taste of the effects..

What type of filters are good for such night shots?

Hi X-Gen! I think UV filter is ok for night shoot. GND, ND# and CPL is mostly for bright day. If I not wrong. I also a newbie here. (So If I wrong, other senior around please correct me.) Thanks! ;)

UV filters doesn't really do much for photos nowadays, other than as a lens protector.

Thanks for your response Jeffrey Ong and wildcat.

So wildcat, in your opinion, what type of filters do u suggest? Polarizer or ND?

What do you hope to achieve with the filter? There are various filters out there, Google is your best friend and arguably, Wikipedia also.

Have been quite busy with a lot of things last weekend.

Anyway here's my shots. Was busy trying something else due to the irritating flags around.
So since I could not do what I had planned to do, I change to plan B which is playing with my filters and trying to do a pano shot.

More to come..

Might be some tilt. Or else its that half sphere thingy that sticks out on the water front, making it look slanted.

Composition wise, I think its the best given the choices and position. Any more to the left, and subjects would be too centered. There isn't any other elements on the left and right either, so can really add anything else to give better balance.

Well done!

thanks. yes its definitely slanted after the stitch. No doubt abt it. My bad for forgetting to tilted it back. =X

Kinda of hard for me to get anything on the left as its the floating platform which is too brightly lited. Right side is too plain either.. maybe i should move to another side and get the fullton hotel instead to the merlion side..

just a shot from the newbie
