Beautiful Sunset Today

Looks like you already trying other options for sunsets other than the usual... ;).

Hope to share some after my Bandung weekend trip later this month.

Should be able to overcome this issue. Just need to keep looking for the right locations and time of the year.

A good aid is "The Photographer's Ephemeris". It provides the direction, time of sunrise and sunset for a desired location.

Must try out new locations other than the usual current locations if I can. But, new location/new height always invite new challenge. :)

Looking forward to your coming Bandung trip photo.

New location new challenge, no pain no gain. It will be interesting experience for look for new site for shooting (not the usual common locations), and if it is possible to reach there before the sunset. Anyway, appreciate your input for future sunset locations. :)

Today's capturing sunset with the basic equipment - no tripod, GND, ND and CPL. The main subjects were the sky and the clouds only.

It was a cloudless sunset, only a few small cotton clouds can be found at the West direction. I think there must be many photographers shooting sunset today at different parts of Singapore. :)

Labrador Park

Canon 40D, EF 20-35mm F/2.8 L

ISO 100, 1/30 Sec., f/9 at 20mm, CPL, GND

Return to Labrador Park to re-shoot using CPL filter with GND filter, the brightness from the sky and the ground details were more balance, the contrast from the ground was now better and more colorful.

Beautiful photos , somehow I missed this thread ,I was clicking the 'like' button .
Then as I go further I realize that all the photos were equally great and also with infos.
Keep it up , the camera is a just a tool how the user uses it and the result is more important .
Thanks for sharing such lovely photos .

Appreciate your kind comments.

Talk about latest camera with high ISO performance and etc do not help the landscape photographer like me, which I need to carry 5 GND (GND8 x 3, sunset, blue sky), ND8 and CPL and shoot at ISO 100 (and lower if any). A good lens and filters may help to produce some reasonable photo. Now from photo produce by the 70-200mm, I think I will need a CPL to produce the image quality that I need.

Hope the info with the photo will help us to improve and learn. ;)

wow u zoom in to the max at 200mm, very stable hands ...

Thanks, I was shooting with the tripod. From the photo 200mm to me is still too short and no time to add the 1.4 TC which the sun was going down into the horizon very very fast. Next time I need to carry my 100-300mm f/5.6 L for the closeup. :)
