Beautiful Sunset Today

I has not shot sunset at the Car Park "C". I am looking for the Jetty with the sign "NO ENTRY DANGER DEEP WATER", which is a very nice place to shoot sunset, do you know this location, thank you in advance. :)

It's around the lone tree part too. After you walk in a while, there's the tree on the right, continue walking after the round for around 200-300 metres and there will a short staircase to your left down to the water with the sign.

Thanks for the information, found the location by using the Google Map, is was just between the Car Park B and C. :)

That jetty u mention should b the one next to car park c ( there is a toilet beside it) right to the far end if u came from the rocket tower.

From the Google Map's picture, there are two more jetty (exclude the two jetty just next to the rocket tower). One as you mention just next to car park C, and another one just between the rocket tower and the car park C. Will search for these two jetty next time. Thanks for the information, very much appreciate.

Oh, u found the jetty! Nice one!

Just found it, thanks again for the information. This jetty is closer to Car Park C, but if shooting only at the rocket tower than Car Park B will be closer. This location if shooting close to the sign at the staircase, it is possible for one photographer only, this is the only disadvantage. But, many other composition are possible. :)

The next time u go , try the jetty next to car c, it it right to the end and it give u another view of the reservoir

Good suggestion, will give it a try next time.

Nice shots. I was shooting last night at pandan reservoir . Nice sunset yesterday

Thanks for your comments. Last night was nice but if add few more cotton clouds will be perfect, I think I am asking too much. From last night weather news report haze will be back in the month of September and October due to coming changing direction of Trade Wind.

We do have some common camera setup : Canon 5D Mark II, 40D, EF 17-40 f/4 L, EF 100 f/2.8 and EF 70-200 f/4 L. This week I just brought a EF 17-40mm f/4 L from a clubSNAPer, I was using the EF 20-35mm f/2.8 L for many years and very satisfied with the lens, the only issue is the 5D II can not perform in camera Peripheral illumin. correction, and 17-40mm f/4 was a newer lens has no problem. New lens provide new perspective view but with a new filter size of 77mm which is different my other lens of 72mm.filter size. After some testing still able to use the 85mm Cokin P single filter holder without any vignetting. Still need to buy the 77mm screw on CPL filter. :)

Congrats on your new addition of the 17-40mm! think u will like the lens which is very good for landscape photography. I hv been it for 3 years. Good value for money.
I am using Progrey filter holder and adapter ring which allow up to 3 filters stack together. This is more budget than the lee foundation kit. It is available at Tk photo.
If haze really come in sept/ oct, then we need to shoot more in aug, hehe..

Thanks. Yesterday afternoon bring the 17-40mm f/4 to Raffle Marina for test shots, was told by the policeman guarding the light house that "any angle can shoot but not into the direction of the 2nd link's bridge". Took a few shots and I left the place, since the best angle was to the bridge.

The last time I went there, the guard told me only members are allow to walk to the yatch/ lighthouse area. Public only near the restaurant area. Imo, the lighthouse give a good angle as well.

The light house was a public area and do not own by Raffle Marina, but when I was there there yesterday the police officer provide me some friendly suggested photographic angle as follow:

National Security Friendly Photographic Angle

When you are in doubt, always check with friendly police officer nearby for further guidance :)
