does it have a quick release? ;p

what mount is it for?
last picture is a 10D rite? so it does have a mount for 10D rite?

Is there a quick release for the POD...??

I don't think so, it is just a screw, where you screw the camera onto the POD.

The one that I am using DON'T have the screw. The camera just sit on it, in fact, there is no need for screw, as the bean bag is suppose to support the camera in various position.

And it is suitable for any camera... just that I only have the pictured camera to show with the support.

reminds me of the sand bag that i use to puy my rifle...

anyway...it is just a bean bag rite? the mount and quick release for what?

urrr.... i think they were kidding....... :D

I was also questioning the usefulness of the screw. some preliminary thinking: a screw could be useful to secure the camera onto the pod and the pod could then be secured onto some other structure (e.g. tied to a fence or a pole).

I told my wife to make one for me for a very long time...

Hard to find saga seeds in Singapore, so I need to wait for yet another trip to Malaysia to collect enough seeds for my bag.

But if the price from IVOR is cheap...

What I think that maybe those small styrafoam(or wrong spelling) balls might do the tricks too. Just design a bag that is about 7" by 9" & 2.5" thick(18cm by 23cm & 6.3cm thick), of course that includes a zip opening in order to add on more styrafoam balls if it got squashed by heavy equipment & so on...Anyway, this is just my point of view. :)

bean baggies.

Not to spoil the thread starter's business but if you are free, you can purchase the styrofoam beanies from spotlight or craft stores. They come in super big bags for filling bean bags or smaller packs for craft use. Then just sew a bag and pour them in.

My nice gf made one big bean baggie and it has since been in my room floor and apart from sitting, I alsp put my cam on it. Its super big, so I just use it for temp support cause there's probably no way the cam's gonna drop on the floor.

Cheers.

i made my bean bag using green beans in a sock.
Done i less then 2 dollar and less then a few minutes

I would buy the bean bag and perhaps would like to be the sole distributor if it could do the following:

1. Stabilizer using IS (Canon) or VR(Nikon) technology which enables hand holding capability by 2-3 stops.

2. Adjustable height and smooth rotation for panning purposes.

3. Enable one hand operation of camera especially attached with lenses like the 300mm!

I think that's about it...any other ideas/critera? ;p

u dun need a bean bag, u need a tripod! :D

The beanbag would then be used for you to rest and sit down. ;p

Urrr... I thot that was what cooks used to do in NS to cook the beans? :bsmilie:

Sorry to OT.

I guess no one is interested in the 'bean bag'. I personally, find it very useful.

I ain't using the saga seeds (hard to find in SG), nor green bean (which will rot in time), nor using styrofoam. It is relatively light and compact.

I am just plainly introducing some good stuff to you guys. It is all right with me.

You have not told us the price.

so WHAT are you using? the type found in typical bean bags?

I would caution anyone who's thinking of making their own bean bags and filling it with saga seeds, green beans or any other sort of seeds. A friend of mine did just that and while going to Australia on a trip, he got stopped by customs who accused him of bringing agricultural products into the country... you know how Australian and New Zealand customs are. So don't forget to take it out of your gear bag before going abroad!

That's prudent warning and good advice.

It is good that the local governments of these countries are doing all they can to protect the local flora and fauna, considering that their fore-fathers brought rabbits and dogs which decimated the local life forms just a century or so ago!
