[ BBBBug ] - When is the EP3 on sale in Singapore?

SLR Revolution is selling the twin lenses kit at $1391 (cash) / $1421 (visa).
Still the cheapest in town area.

I know SLR revo is the cheapest, but no stock currently for the silver tlk which I wanted. Anyway, mustafa allowed me to change the 8gb card class 4 to a class 10 one. Plus I got the foc 16gb card from Olympus. So more or less even out a bit.

If I were to buy from ms or tk, will be more exp. And currently also no stk.

The most important thing is to take pictures. For me, it's my baby gal and wife.

I automatically gets 100x Class 10 8gb card from my dealer. No need to ask or beg. Sadly, Olympus is only giving away Class 4 16 gb card which they probably get dirt cheap as end-of-line discards from Sandisk.

I do not have a regular dealer. Did call Parisilk hv, but I think u got the last set from a few pages back.

Currently an e-pl1 user which was bought during initial launch at one of the it shows. Initially wanted to get a e-pl3 like u. But after seeing the msrp of usd699 in USA, I think that it's more worthwhile to just get e-p3 with better screen, touchscreen shooting (useful for my wife), better build and possibility to use evf.

Anyway, my initial post was directed at kiwitan who was asking where exactly to buy at mustafa.

I called them up earlier and they have the purchase with purchase thingy for the 17mm pancake lens.
Im thinking of getting the panny 20mm f1.7 lens probably a few months later.
Do you guys think the 17mm is necessary in this case?

I think the 17mm will be quite good for normal usage and $250 is a good price. If you don't want it, I will be more than happy to buy it from you at that price. =) [coming from an E-Pl2 user who envies those soon to be E-P3 users]

Anyone using the converters? The one with macro, wide angle and fisheye? Any comments?
Thinking of getting it and it would solve the problem of bringing too many lenses when going on a holiday.

I have always wondered about the free memory cards that dealers are supposed to give away on behalf of the agents. For the same camera model, different dealers may give away different cards, some better quality than others. Could it be that some dealers keep the better quality (as in higher Class level) memory cards from the agents and give away lower class and different brand cards from their own stocks ?

This round, Parisilk gave Class 10 8 gb Kingston SDHC with the EP3. I wonder what brand/class SDHC did other dealers give with the EP3.

According to mustafa, Olympus only gave them class 4. I guess the other buyers from ms, tk and the rest can better enlighten the other readers. FYI, I actually called Parisilk hv last nite to reserve a silver tlk. Quoted price was higher than the <$1420 which u got and the bundled sd card is sandisk class 4/6. So I guess being a regular does help a bit.

I got from alan photo class 4 kingston..
TK foto quoted me $1458 using card even after I told them of Mustafa selling at $1449 with extra batt tripod and card...and since they didn't offer me a better price, I walked out.. and into alan photo...though mustafa still seemed like a better deal, I couldn't wait anymore and paid $1439 for tlk

With Parisilk, you would only get the best prices if you go down and ask them face to face. They usually sell cheap as they are aiming for volume sales and have kenna complaints from other dealers to the agents when their competitors pretending to be potential buyers got the true selling prices from them over the phone. The manager at HV told me that they would not quote the lowest prices any more over the phone nowadays because of this.

In any case, to become a regular fast, it is best to deal directly. After a couple of times, they would recognise you as a regular and you would automatically get the best deals without too much haggling. ;)

Cathay photo quoted me $1190 cash. Cool I'm going to buy frm them. So far is the best deal.

$1190 for single lens kit is just OK only. Not the best price.

maybe its the best deal for now given that SLRR and some other places selling cheaper has run out of stock? ;p

Well, no stock at SLR though is the cheapest.
TK $1199

Got the last set of white TLK from SLRR this afternoon. :)
Collected the class 4 16GB sandisk from Olympus.
While I was there I saw them selling the macro, wide / fisheye attachment at $98, $268 respectively.

anyway, regarding the macro, wide/fisheye attachments, has anyone tried them out? Any reviews?

The PWP price for the 17mm is $250... about half that of the Lumix 20mm.
Focal length wise, not much difference but aperture wise, the 17mm is f/2.8 while the 20mm is f/1.7.
It therefore depends on whether you need a brighter lens for better low light usage or not and is willing to pay more for this capability.

You guys might want to consider that the 20 mm Af on the EP3 is faster than the 17 mm.

Just came out from CP.
They left with white.
Price not that attractive, compare to the rest.
