Hi guys,

Have a question. If use EP3 with panny 20mm F1.7, I saw that whenever switch from play mode to shooting mode, the shutter in the
Lens always tend to close and open with a small sound. Is that normal?

yes. this happens on EP1, EPL2 and other EP series, i believe.

Shutter? You mean aperture? If you're in aperture priority, if its the aperture, the aperture controls the amount of light hitting the sensor much like how our eye operates since the light falls on the sensor directly and not on a mirror and bouncing

damn happy got my white tlk from alan photo... $1439 using card... but a bit regret cos mustafa sell $1449 with tripod extra sd card and extra 3rd party batt...
anyone can recommend a screen protector?

Exactly where in mustafa did u find the camera? They got a few buildings and many floors and they arE not known to be well oilganized. Thanks

Im thinking of getting the panny 20mm f1.7 lens probably a few months later.
Do you guys think the 17mm is necessary in this case?

the 2 focal lengths are very close, so I personally feel its not necessary, its either one or the other

The PWP price for the 17mm is $250... about half that of the Lumix 20mm.
Focal length wise, not much difference but aperture wise, the 17mm is f/2.8 while the 20mm is f/1.7.
It therefore depends on whether you need a brighter lens for better low light usage or not and is willing to pay more for this capability.

I think the Oly price of EP3 + 14-42mm II lens is a bit out, especially if you want a 12mm f2.0 lens. This will set you back by RM3199+3099=RM6298. Incidentally, I managed to get Fuji to try out their X100, which has 12mm 2.0 lens (however, fixed lens), the price is only RM3998!
Oly has to review its pricing for the 12 mm lens. There will be so many 14-42mm MSCII lens left over for sale.

Just bought 1 set of silver tlk from mustafa for $1449. Slk is $1215. Payment using credit card. When I left at 11.30 this morning, stock status as follows:

Basement 2 new building:
Tlk white 1 set
Slk silver 1 set

Level 1 old building:
Tlk black 1 set
Slk white 1 set

Happy hunting. Olympus sg 16gb sd card running out fast. Think should run out by this weekend/early next week.

Fuji X100 does not have a 12mm lens. It has a 23mm lens which is equivalent to 35mm on full frame format.

Apple-for-apple focal length wise, you should couple the EP3 with the Olympus 17mm lens to compare properly with the X100. The 17mm is selling at a purchase-with-purchase price of $250 currently. So for the same price as the X100 or less (depending on where you buy it), you would get both the standard zoom and 17mm prime with the EP3.

Not if we already have the VF2
Olympus has not released any info about the specs of the VF3 apart from the price. It would be cheaper than the VF2. I'm hoping that they did not stinge on the quality of the EVF display to achieve the cost reduction. I don't want the VF3 to have a 1.4M dot EVF like that in the Sony A33/55 cameras which only look good when the image is stationary but smears at the outlines when the camera is spanned.

i'm keeping my VF2, the new lock feature is good, but not necessary, i prefer to have 1.44M dot.
