Logically m43 lens are more optimize for weight and size. Just look at the form factor. The lens ring just need to fit the wider length. As for APSC the form factor is wider. That is why Sony lens barrel are not that small actually. You might be better off with a DSLR of Canon or Nikon. At least you have wide selection of lens compare to Sony meager offering.

To the TS, The touch focus and touch shutter are all pioneered by Panasonic in the G2. The GF2, GH2, G3, GF3 all can do what the PEN E-P3 can. So dont just think that the E-P3 can only do that. Gosh, I've been using all the touch functions 1 year ago on my G2.. and now on GH2. So, yes, the AF speed on the E-P3 is fractionally faster on the PEN, but in real life the GH2, G3, GF3 are also instantaneous. The GH2 is best hybrid for stills and video. It can give you cinematic 24p video at full HD. All FULL Manual control of video, i.e. shutter speed, aperture, film mode etc.

The E-P3 has jello effect for video, unless you turn the IBIS off.. but that means any slight shake also shows up. Not the best for video.

The Panasonics all have Image stabilization in the lenses. Except for the pancakes. So for video, I'm very happy with my GH2 and 14-140 or 14-42 combo as both has OIS built in..

So as someone else has stated above depends on what you are looking for. I shoot 40% video. So I need the best hybrid. But for general walkabout camera, with good looks, the E-P3 is really sexy.

The G3 is smaller but has less video control. What it has that the E-P3 doesnt have is a built in viewfinder. For E-P3, the extra VF-2/3 cost $280 onwards. So if you really want good stills combo & video, G3 or GH2 is the best.. go hold the cameras and feel them to know..

Yes, although both panny n the latest PENS have touch screen, the panny is less sensitive and the PENS are more sensitive. Personally i did not like how much harder i had to press the screen on the panny. In any case, if u are touch screem hater, on the PENS u can turn that function off. The touch screen function is an additional option to the controls.
