Battery charger query

hi all, my fren was planning to buy 2500mAh batteries to be use with her old charger, ie, if her old charger be able to fully utilised the full capacity of the batteries?

previously bundled with the charger is 1700mAh batteries. :cry:

any kind soul, please advise.
