Batt for Canonet QL19?

Are batteries available for this? Originally it was a 1.3V mercury cell, apparently phased out because of the mercury content.

try if LR44 can fit. I've replaced the old 1.3v PX675 mercury battery in my Konica C35 wif LR44 and it work perfectly ok.
