sam i love it, im a fan already!

but how come very grainy in some pics, look more like scans, you use your fujifilm?

anyways you are sucha monkey lurer hehehe everywhere you go have monkeys

Haha...thx velasco :)

It's probably caused by my batch image resizer I guess...cuz I usually just resize them in a batch using Mihov Image Resizer.

Yeah..I realised that I've been taking loads of monkey pics too..haha..I remember taking monkey shots at my trip to Zoo, my outing to Admiralty Park, and now Batam too. Seems like everywhere I go, I see monkeys. :)

I'll be going Batam next mth and wondering where over there that I can take nice landscape pix?

Wat kind of lens lineup will u recommend? Wide angle or Zoom?

Actually, since i was only at Batam for 2D1N so I didn't had much chance to explore Batam at all. We spent most of the time near our hotel (Holiday Inn Batam). The view from the beach (well, not really much of a beach since it was all barricaded) near our hotel wasn't fantastic and there wasn't much for me to take during my trip so I ended up taking many shots of monkeys and cats...haha.

Personally, I recommend taking a zoom...since it's more versatile. Taking a huge camera bag with change of lenses may be too "flashy" and u may be more of being a "target". Just take 1 lens and your camera should be enough if you are not going to be there for long.

I've heard someone saying about some of the locals will want to charge you for taking their photos (though I've not encountered that myself) so just try not to be too obvious and and stand too close to them when taking street shots.

Originally I wanted to tour 1 of their local kampungs (as offered as a tour by my hotel) but due to time constraints so I didn't had the chance to go. Would have taken more pics if I'd gone on that tour. :(

Hope to see your pics after your trip :)

#21 !!!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::heart:

anyway, i was advice by a fren residing in batam against street photography as the locals may demand money if they know you are taking pictures of them. so you kana ?

Lol...I was just reviewing my thread and realised that you meant the pic of the 2 kids on the water slide and not the sunset...haha...my bad.

Yupz, that was 1 of the shots I took of them (and their dad) on the hotel's water slide while we were waiting for our shuttle bus to the jetty. Since me and my friends hanged out around the poolside so we happened to take many shots of those 2 kids so we asked their parents for their email and emailed them the photos we took of their kids (since I didn't see them with camera so assumed that they didn't brought their camera down to the pool with them)

Cool shots! I am off for Batam this weekend.
Can I use some of your shots for my blog?

Thank you.
