Here are the basic requirements for underwater photography...
1. Housing to suit your camera - This is just the "Waterproof Box" that the camera body fits into.
(Not waterproof until port is fitted)
2. Ports: There are added to the front of the housing to accommodate lenses.
They come in a variety of types and lengths depending on the intended lenses maximum field of view.
8" Dome - for WA lenses 110 - 180 degrees (can be adapted for WA zoom too)
6" Dome - for medium WA 30 - 120 degrees (can be adapted for WA zoom too)
Macro ports - Usually dictated by the length of your intended lens/es.
Both types can be extended with collars and have internal focusing mechanisms.
Diopters may be required on some WA/Zoom lenses to enable close focus.
3. Stobes - At least one unit, connected via sync cable or fibre optic cable to housing bulkhead connector.
