but me point is... we shud not be too concern with this problem, that problem.... banding, hot pixel, vignetting, corner sharp or not sharp...

so....huge bands rushing up and down the picture taken by a top-of-the-line camera is something we should not be concerned about?? :dunno:

Not to worry too much ...................... expecting Nikon to come up with something to resolve problem ....... :)

the pics here only shows banding from iso6400 and up.

TS says ISO500 but I see no pic... don't doubt him but maybe just one off and u may need to pixel peep to see ... so why bother ?

If it bothers, just buy another to replace? BTW, D700 not top of the line...

even D3 shows banding at ISO200.... so ???

what's the fuss... just get it replace...
if NSC say no replacement, then just buy another? No?

Then tell me

If there is banding even at ISO 500, I will send in to NSC and have them look into it.

Hi Guys, guess what? ......... it's there ..... even at ISO 500 ................ so what now?

picture pls?

Quite hard for us to imagine what it looks like / how bad it is without one...

Hi Zenten, sorry to dig up and old thread, just thought to share with you something I learnt, I've got slight banding/blooming even at iso200, panicked and thought of your thread immediately :bsmilie:

I did a few more test shots and discovered that it only happens when I shoot in low light with +1EV or more compensation. My problem was obvious at iso200 cos I left Active D-Lighting and long exposure NR on. The heavy in-camera processing together with longer exposure probably brought out the banding/blooming. The problem doesn't appear when I shoot at the correct exposure, or switch off Active D-Lighting even at iso800.

It's hard to tell what your problem with the camera is cos we don't know what conditions and settings you shot your pictures in, but I must say that I was damned relieved to find out that in my instance, it is not the camera's fault, but the silly photographer :embrass:
