1st time diving in Bali, 4th time visiting there. My FE lens basically locked up at a small aperture after the first dive at Manta point. Subsequent dives with the lens i had to shoot CAF+MF at f3.5 at ISO800 to get any sort of shot off or to get the shutter to close. Lotsa of unusable shots esp the tornado of jacks at tulamben. :(

Wow, love those manta ones! the sun burst s nice! Lots of sediments tho... ;-)
The 1st mola mola with the sun is nice too! Looks like the full moon & ufo...

i was just wondering why u got nice subnbursts in the first 2 shots but not the rest....

at least u can still shoot. My FE lens autofocus went kaput on the first dive in Maldives years ago.....no photos of mantas for the trip

I was wondering that too but didn't ask, in case it appeared to be a "stupid" question n get scolded by "So stupid you also dont know". So now KTHan had asked now I can ask.

Now I am wondering if I should bring my old PnS (at least stll can shoot video) or new DSLR for manta/mola next week. (wait the WA lens got stuck by murphys law)

Hahaha, we were lucky. We dove at manta point before heading to crystal bay. Did 2 dives there. We were the last divers in the water for the 2nd dive, when all the other boats were leaving the area liao. Saw this juve mola at 20m so pretty shallow. But din get good shots as the 'little' one was spooked, haha... :bsmilie:
