Where did you spot the whale sharks? Which Dive site?

Tulamben - Liberty Wreck.

My buddy was having some ear problem at about 15 metre. I told her to stay at that depth.... when looking for the DM. Stay at around 18-20 metre while the DM when up and help her. Was lookin up to see is everything alright...... then did I saw this gaint silhouette swimming near the surface...... Wow, all hell broke lose as I point and make as much noise as I could..... ;) Hahaha.... never have i go from 18 metre to about 7 metre in sooo short a time. My dive Com was going crazy warning me ;p

Wow! You posted this on-line for others to read? You almost sound proud. Spooky.

Out of 100 diver I think 90 will do the same in that situation. We are all human after all....:p My friends went to 40m on Nitrox for the Mola Mola  even more scary rite...:sweat: out of 6 only 1 stayed at 30m....he's the Shop owner lah got to set a good example :sweatsm:

out of 100 divers, 90 may do the same. Unfortunately 62 of those will get decompression sickness (12 Type II and 50 Type I). 19 will get an arterial gas embolism. 15 will get mediastinal emphysema. 32 will get a pneumothorax and 21 will get subcutaneous emphysema. 5 will die. 8 will be paralysed. 12 will learn to live with the life-long pain. Many of them will get the photo. I just hope they now get the picture. ;)

U either see the whale shark..... or not. I was only under 18metre of water for less than 10 min. Feel safe enough to give chase. Each diver is respondible for his/her well being. For a Whale Shark, I'm willing to take the risk. ;)

I post the thread not to show off or teach anyone here what to do. Just what had happen during the dive. And I saw my Moal Mola in 37.1metre of water...... most other saw theirs at 40+metre.

To each his/her own ways...... get my meaning ?? ;)

When U see your 1st Whale Shark...... safety is 2nd on your mind. 1st will be the Whale Shark. That I will confirm with you. ;)

I'll sit here in stunned silence.

I know a thing or two about chasing after the perfect shot, but super rapid ascents and using nitrox past it's MOD?? Yikes... :o

When i Saw my First Whale Shark I was snorkeling :) so No Rapid ascend for me.

Making a lot of Noise will scare the Subject away, please Don't do it. I know you're all excited but if you think back.. it's wrong.. the subject might just swim away due to your "noise"

When i first saw my Manta i was at 15m.. it was a 3m.. my divers all chased.. I decide to slowly ascend and it swam away.. leaving me with an overexposed photos with nothing but divers. At first I regret for not chasing, but after thinking it through I knew it was the right thing to do.

You can never be too sure about the nitrogen may it be 1min or 10mins or 30mins

I think its quite selfish to say "Each diver is responsible for his/her well being." because if you were to be so lucky as to get bent because of the ascend. Your whole group will have to abort the dive. Being your friends, do you think they'll continue to dive after they send you off to the hospital? You just spoilt the trip for everyone.

That aside. Nice pics :) can't wait to get to bali Yippiee

like i always tell my students who take the DUP course, you're a diver first, photographer second. worry about photographs only when you can dive properly.

dive safe(r)!

Thxs for the advise.... but I have no reget about what I did. I know it isn't correct, and is not advising anyone to follow my example...... the fact is, that if the suitation is the same again, I would do it again. :D

Again, this is just me. Not teaching any one to follow.
