By the way, I just got the Corkin Z Pro series with an ND8 + 4, hoping to organise a sunset shoot in preparation for our upcoming Jiuzhaigou tour. Will update you guys soon

WAH! Good!
I love organised outings. Best look for somewhere where we can shoot sunset/sunrise and with a lake where we can all use our CPL to remove reflection and to see the colours inside.
4am, 5am in the morning - usual SgTrekker style one, I am ok.
5pm, 6pm in the evening - we are also ok.
You find the location and let us know lah!

We finally arrive at the town of Palasari, a Christian community, which is quite a rare sight given that 95% of Bali are Hindus. Apparently the Christian community flourished during the Dutch occupation in the early 20th century when the American Christian & Missionay Alliance were allowed to spread and convert the locals to Christianity. The new converts were then told to destroy the Hindu temples and create havoc within the Hindu caste system, eventually most of the Christians were banished to the west, where they were deemed to create less trouble.

We dropped by our drivers place at Palasari. Apparently he only sees his kids 2-3 times a month as he has to work in the city area (Kuta, Denpasar, Sanur)

Final Day in Bali, did a walkabout in Sanur. Saw these two kids in a narrow alley. I find some of the alleys really interesting, you walk into one and find hidden hostels, little restaurants, residential areas, roadside temples, etc

LowLights, I need to try out your newly bought, spanking 28-300mm. Me too.
HAHAHA...

Honestly, I think Canon should come up with a non-L version of the 28-300mm.
And one that is not push-pull.
And lighter in weight.
And sharper.

There is great potential in this lens .. Frankly I only do test shots ... But from Adrian field test shots .. It very commendable

Dollar for dollar it will not stand up to the high end lenses.. But if anyone ask me to recommend a one camera one lens system .. Then this lens will be recommended.. But the way .. It also perform very well for Macro

Gone is the bleach of old.
Welcome the new Adrian, and I never thought I would say this (about the Dark side).
But your new machine + new lens is a lethal combination with your eyes for composition.

But we managed to hit Tanah Lot in time for sunset.

T R A V E L O G U E

Day 4: From Sanur to Palasari Church, Ekasari village (home of our driver Komang) and to Rambutsiwi

Well, a trip with SgTrekker is never complete without some surprises.
Adrian never failed to throw in surprises for every single one of our trips.
This one is no different.

Originally we planned to take a trip to Lake Bratan, to Muntak village, to Gitgit waterfall up north.
But intelligence has revealed that the weather was really misty and rainy and we would see nothing if we were to make that move.
Thus, Adrian made a bold decision to take us all the way westwards to where tourists hardly set foot upon.

We went to:

• Palasari Church - a most most interesting mix of Balinese architecture incorporated into the Church building.
• Ekasari village - where our driver Komang's wife and family warmly welcomed us into their home and ancestor temple.
• Rambutsiwi - for a nice sunset in a unique paddi field setting, over looking the distant volcanoes!

These 2 are nice. Nice moment of the kid treading in the padi fields. The golden light with the partial reflections in the padi fields is uniquely taken as well.
