Bad purple tint

Thinking fluorescent light causing this trouble.

That's not purple fringing... Hrm.

I'm thinking mixed lighting, resulting in what looks like a correct WB across the whole picture (at least for first one) but spots which are distinctively different.

For the second picture, I'm seeing a dominant purple cast.

What are your saturation/contrast settings? Was high ISO used?

saturation and contrast no idea .. all use default..

The last two you posted are definitely due to mixed lighting situations. There's some source of artificial light in the last photograph that is reflecting off the table, you seem to have a warm WB since daylight outside the window has turned blue. Probably a mix of daylight, tungsten + fluorescent giving that purple cast.

So my guess is for the first set of food pictures, the same was happening. Whether or not this is the case, only you would know...

These two pics look 'normal', for reasons already explained. But It's still pretty hard to imagine that the purple in the food pics is due to mixed lighting. It would be pretty extreme mixed lighting to show up in food pics like that.

It could be as simple as indoor tungsten lighting (very, very cool inherent WB then, if you use auto) dominating, with a fluorescent tube slightly off to the side. Fluorescent lighting can be very tricky and give a lot of funny casts. :bsmilie:

1. Try under same situation with another lens.
2. Try Tamron lens on another camera and your own during one of the outings (esp. so when we meet in the yellow lighted Macdonalds)
3. Try w/ and w/o filter

At least you'd know if its a camera, lens, filter problem.

I used my kit lens for a year before getting this tamron. I dun think I have this problem before the tamrom. If not I would have brought up earlier. Let me go thru my previous photos see see. .
