Bad image quality on my Hassy 500cm. Please help!

Scanning is an art to learn by itself. While a good scanner and good scanning software helps, you need to tweak the scans to get the correct colors, etc as well.

Any good reads on scanning to recommend? While I am not a very technical person, i would like to know some basic settings to i can apply so I can get correct colors off my flatbed scanner. Deeply appreciate if you have some recommendations :)

I bought this book called 'Scanning Negatives and Slides' by Sascha Steinhoff during last year's Borders sale for $15.

Best buy i ever made. Teaches you everything from basics of scanning to comparisons between different scanners in the market to the proper scanning workflows.

You can try finding it in the library or Amazon.
