Bad Experience!

it is always like these, when you demand something. they play pang on you. they expect us to be very polite, than they will do their job. as whole, I thought they are paid for the job.
btw the technician only know to change module. he can't repair to board level. that is changing electronic component. I think he screw up your flex cable.

helo to all lumixers,

guess i decided to tell u guys what happened to my horid experience after hearing another horid one with his fz30.

Right after i shot my complain email up to panasonic singapore, the system replied:

Dear Mr Lim

Thank you for your email and noted your feedback.

Our engineers are looking into your problem. Please wait for their reply.

Thanks and Regards

Customer Care Center

i was thinking WTF, nt even a sorry.

hours later after i got the reply email, one of the senior technicians called me and apologised about the whole matter. Things were starting to look good and surprisingly, they offered to exchange a new LC1 for me. Whew! Guess also cos i told them that i felt their test set in panasonic felt good. He assured that the test set is also a brand new one. Happily i went down to collect the new set and thanked panasonic for their actions.

thought things were like a bed of roses, when after trying out the camera for some time, i realised there were 3 dots in my photos taken at f5.6. i thought was due to the protector filter or cos the lens has some spots but it was still there despite removing the filter. I tried shooting at f11, and oh my gosh! the 3 dots were so obvious. looks like it's on the CCD itself.

So much for a new set!

Disappointed, lost for words, i went back to the senior tech and asked him again what the hell is going on? isn't it a new set? The techinicians then tried to remove the spots in the CCD and i waited hours for the repair. When it's done, dammnn it,the 3 spots still there.

in my mind i was thinking, they really noe nuts about cameras, there's no Quality checks in their repairs, i was just cursed with owning this camera (which also was the camera that delivered the best images i have ever seen).

there i go again telling the senior tech and the junior tech," Look, can u just please make sure the camera is fully checked before returning it to me!"

haIZZ, again they apologised and made sure that their role as a technician was fulfilled. they also offered to send the camera to my home FOC once it's repaired. reason for the 3 dots to be in the camera, as said by the senior tech is,...... it's a brand new batch of CCDs, so that batch of CCD in that camera could be like that. haha, what a reason.

AGAIN, i waited ...........

finally it got reapaired and they changed the CCD. they claimed thay even checked for specks on the CCD using a microscope! haha, so funny. indeed everthing was back in order as it has always been for the LC1 and the junior tech delivered the camera right at my doorstep.

Of cos i was angry about the whole incident and it was a total waste of time. I now have phobia to go to panasonic centre already man. Luckily they were accomodative to my situation and that's great and a relief for me.:)

glad it went well in the end. I had similar experience too but with Canon. they messed up the repair of a 300D DSLR but gave me totally brand new internals after I brought it back and past warranty period somemore (no charges levied).

so much so a coincidence...my camera just came back from 'hospital', but i need to sent it back again because the focus ring don't work and button don't function...

and best of all i sent email to them, it replied :email sent error, email not in use..WTF...

just to mention something abt customer service support.

i was reading the ricoh forum on dpreview (recently fooling ard with new toy Ricoh GRD ^_^). http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1013&message=18338848

seems that the staff at ricoh service centre in ginza japan knows their camera equipment very well and provided the necessary service required by that ricoh GRD owner.

i hope this is the case for the service centres here in singapore.

:what: Panasonic Singapore stunned me.

i think i know what to do when friends asked me abt their cameras.

I had the same experience with my FZ-30. I bought the camera before my Aussie trip hoping to use it as a primary camera. 2 days before my trip the camera can't turn on! :( I quickly rush to the Pana service center and ask for the express service which they advertised but they claimed they stopped the express service last year. Now I'm stuck. Fortunately, the day my flight the technician called me and the camera was fixed (problem is blown fuse). Very happy and contented until the 3rd day of my Aussie trip the camera died again. Same problem - can't turn on.. Grrrrrrr... Good thing I have my Canon S50 as backup... After getting back to SG, sent in for service and was repaired after two weeks. Now problem is faulty battery. So far no problem after 2 months already. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Note I saw one guy in dpreview also using an Fz30 with fuse blown almost every month. talk about QC.. grrr.
