Bad experience at Chen Fu Ji Suntec restaurant.

When my friend ordered the Glass Jelly Drink, which is stated $2.50 on the menu, the waitress said, "the price has changed, now $3." She quickly took the menu, scribbled away the $2.50 & scribbled $3 in the menu. What the h*ll? This is horrible. In Singapore it is not suppose to happen. The menu is not clear on the prices at all, bad menu. I only thought this kind of thing happens in other countries.

My first post i only mentioned the unjust i felt with the voucher. I didn't even mention something else.

My friend asked the other waitress to confirm that the price is really $3 & not $2.50. The other waitress said,"Yes it is. We are a restaurant, the prices are similair to other restaurants around us, we are not food court, the food court is at basement one."

If I were you, I will just talk loudly with the waitress, let all the people know. Give $10+ and walk away. If police come, all go station, bring to court, u sure win. They pay your legal fees and your crab fried rice! hahaha

i agree lor..it is not a reasonable issue to the owner of the voucher..
by not stating and after you have eaten thinking that you are entitled to it, you enter the contract already, go to court and win your bills back..:bsmilie:
 

I don't even see anything saying S$75 even in the chinese version.

Anyway, it is an uphill struggle if the company wants to rely on the Chinese version. If I were you, I'd just not pay the difference. Ask them to take you to court for the difference and drop them your address for service of any court documents.

Besides, I noticed a Chinese sentence saying "This voucher is not valid if there is no official chop". This can be argued to say that the entire chinese side is not valid as terms and conditions because there is no chop on the chinese side :)
 

Why not u try go small claims and do the nokia stunt that nice lady did a couple months ago?

I've visited this restaurant years ago, and never stepped in after that. Found their food so-so, but premium in price. Pay so much for a plate of fried rice, whole plate of crab meat also won't cost that much!

Thanks for letting us know thread starter. This fried rice business is sure to fail. Let's all boycott it! CSer so easy kenna bully meh? :angry:

After 4 day, i got a email reply from the restaurant.

I have made an investigation and has clearly told the waitress that we should acknowledge the voucher you mentioned.
Rest assured that this similar incident will not happen again.

I would like to extend you a free lunch or dinner at any our outlets, at your convenience. Do contact me at xxxxxxxx so that we can meet up to understand more and to further improve our operations at the outlets.

I noticed another thing abt the voucher last night. The term & condition in chinese. 4th term & condition, without a chop or stamp, it is not valid. The chinese side of the voucher is not valid at all. Your waitress/establishment is just making up the rules. Dishonest. Anyhow. Many ppl by now has already seen my story in various forums over the pass 4 days. This is to let you know. Best regards.

Sorry but some silly questions........was the waitress a well trained? Is she local? Lack of training and understading by not well trained staffs can lead to problems like that.

Restaurants in Singapore always giving free meal seems to be the only way out to solve their problems but I think you should either address the REAL problems and you can just forget about it. Since you brought up on the net and if you have time, you can try to go all the way to make sure they really learn their lessons. Spending so much money on a meal and not upgrading their services is not the way to go.

Cheapo boss always hires the cheapest people in the market. The cost price for their food is very cheap. Do you think they really care what have just happend? I am not surprise if this has happend before. If you have the guts, get a someone from ST or New Paper to hit really hard on them. By giving free meals means they are getting away with murder. You can write to the ST Forum as well.

Although they are kind enough to address your complain but it will happend to other customers as well. One free meal is nothing......trust me.

This is no small establishment.

I have said i'm not going to step into any Chen Fu Ji restaurants again. I'm not interested in the free meal too. I'm not gian peng. Tat once experience is enough.

Good decision on your part thread starter. Damage is done is done. No more Chen Fu Ji. Sucks!
 

I find some "famous" restaurants really bad in their service.
One "famous" crab restaurant MellbXX in an AMK coffeeshop, even before we finished our food halfway, the waitress placed the "reserved" sign on our table, telling us to quickly finish our food.

The coffeeshop lady that sold soft drinks and beer, didnt even bother to dispose of the bottle caps properly, just threw onto the car park beside the tables.

Should have captured that on photo and video and then send to NEA so that they could fine the lady for littering and the coffeeshop for unhygienic practices....:embrass:
