most tripod brands will provide u a tripod sling. at least i know my sirui comes with one.

Frankly speaking, I just carry it... Unless you know you're going to be climbing a lot, it takes just a second to open up the tripod and stand it around..

Enough to fit in a DSLR with lens attached, one additional lens & one flash.

it really depends on the counter at each airport.
so in sng it might b allowed, but not allow at the overseas airport

I used a Tamrac Velocity (6x or 7x model, can't remember) with 2 additional side pouches to carry all my camera gear (body with 3 or 4 lenses and accessories). The tripod goes with all the other stuff into my Osprey backpack for check-in at airport. Plenty of cushioning in the backpack so the tripod will survive rough airport handling. Wouldn't advise check-in your tripod as a separate item or externally. Plenty of horror stories if you do a search. The Tamrac stays with me all the time (including during flight) and suits my style of shooting - lots of lens changes on the go and easy to access.

If going Cambodia is it wise to bring a tripod along? I mean so much walking and if carrying a tripod would it be a pro or con?

when i went Japan, tripod on backpack - allowed, when i went Taiwan - air crew ask me to check - in.
Australia - totally not allowed.
Thailand (Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai) they allow even i hand carried it without a tripod bag/strap...
Indonesia (Bali) they asked me to put inside my hand carried bag...

as our bros her mentioned it depends on the airline counter and airport personnel.
by the way im using think tank HD or airport commuter...

My advice is to lose the battery grip. Just carry additional batteries. And get a waist bag like the Think Tank Speed Freak.

battery grip is just extra weight and useless, and it makes you look a lot more flashy when travelling overseas. Better to be low profile.
