I love picture #2 the best, and picture #1 follows closely behind. The old wooden door/architecture really adds charm to these images. Picture #1 would have been a lot nicer if the vertical black beam didn't appear one-third way into the image.
Generally, I like the costumes a lot, and the blue kimono is a winner. I've been trying to find a nice kimono to add to my wardrobe but haven't been successful. Do you know where the model shoot organiser got/rented it?
Hmm... you now have a 50mm f/1.8 lens? Very sharp lens! (Just like the 85mm f/1.8.)
Before you get bitten by the buying bug, the only real advantage with fast (large aperture) lenses such as 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.2L or even the out-of-production f/1.0L is opening up for use in low light situations and shallower depth-of-field. Don't ever think that the larger aperture, or even the L designation, means a sharper or more contrasty image when shot wide open. No, not, and never, and I know this through my work handling/fixing/measuring these lenses. When used fully wide open, the sharpest and most contrasty of all the 50mm lenses is probably the humble 50mm f/1.8, surely not the f/1.2. Large glass surface areas tend to cause internal flaring hence slightly softens the images as if a softening filter was placed over it, and I have seen this with the f/1.2.
