Hi guys,

I've mentioned it in some of the posts before, I'm considering having an FOC (not TOTALLY free, I ask that each person just pay $5 for materials) printing sharing session for newbies out there interested in doing darkroom just to get their feet (or fingers) wet. :)

Basically just bring some negatives (B&W negs. of course!) you have shot to my studio/darkroom, then we'll try to print them. This is just a sharing session, not a complete lesson. In fact I'm still learning myself so I'm in no position to really teach.

As my darkroom is not airconditioned, we can only use it from evening onwards. So I've set a tenative date of 2nd November (Friday) evening for the session. It will easily last till midnight and beyond.

Unfortunately I won't be able to accomodate a lot of people, so I'm thinking at most 4 people including me. So that means 3 people can come.

Please give priority to people who are really interested in darkroom. I'll also try to give students priority since working adults can afford to pay for a course at SAFRA or something.

Yup, so just PM me if you are interested. :) Please include your name, contact number, rough experience level and let me know if you are a student or not yah?

wow, thats v.nice of you. students interested in B&W should grab this offer.

Oh, and I will NOT be going thru film developing. It's just too boring! :)

Okay 1 slot taken.. 2 left... :)

great offering Enivre, hope you get lots of fun doing it! kudos.

Bro your inbox is full... Send me your number and let me know if you can make it on that day (i.e. no need to be in camp :))

good on ya enivre for sharing... it's great to see that those with experience in b&w sharing with others who are quite new, way to keep the interest in bw photography alive :)

Good for you to give your time to others!

Just a word on film developing. As what was mentioned ad nauseum, the negative is the score and the print the performance.

While playing before an audience is quite satisfying, the performer cannot make a great performance if the score is bad.

While the act of creating a great score is lonely, I think making it is really quite exciting! There are a lot more to making a great score than putting the exposed negatives through the developer, stop bath, and fixer. A lot, lot, more.

Yup you are right! But unfortunately with my lack of experience I'm not at all qualified to attempt to teach others the subtle differences between the various chemicals and timings etc... Hopefully someone else will be able to do that.. :)

Okay all slots taken as of now.. :)

Some really nice prints from the two guys that turned up.. Fast learners too!!

Hopefully I can afford the time to do this again soon... :)

guys, I think the street shots are stunning!

What you should do now is to follow up with a print sharing session. They'll look different after drying and under various lighting conditions. I'd like to see these prints myself, keep me posted if you're organising one.

Great street shots! who took them?
