B+W filters: worth paying so much?

Is it worth it paying so much more for B+W filters over basic hoya ones?

the "xspro mrc nano" is solid and heavy, but its rim is thinner than the fpro.

But visually, I dont see much difference from a high quality hoya filter.

the B+W print is on the side rim and front rim, with "Made in Germany"

Ty man. I'm new to dslr. Like 1week only.
The hoyA high quality is mean the hoya hd filter?
Does it similar to kenko?
I bought 50mm f1.8g today.was planning to get filter. :)
Ty for ur help

B+W filters are expensive only for the larger filter sizes, or if you go slim or nano. For example, I got a 62mm B+W filter (MRC, but not nano) from Amazon for USD 36.50. Slightly more expensive in Singapore, but I don't think by much. If I remember correctly, you only need slim if your FOV is wider than 28mm equivalent. Nano seems to be more for making the filter easier to clean (according to the Schneider Optics website).

Got it. Wow. Million thanks.

Yes, it is worth it!

Try Carl Zeiss filters. A 58mm piece is $95! Almost 1 and half times a B+W!

I have tried both of the same filter from Hoya and b+w

IMO. Can't tell difference with the naked eyes

As for the b+w easy to clean part, I don't find that very true, maybe it's just me

Hi, this question I has found before :)

The only diff is design of the filter frame for B+W and anti crack glass for hoya HD.

Hoya HMC is clean, easy to clean and offers great value for money.

After getting ridiculous flares and spending so much effort just to clean up the glass. I've permanently switched to b+w. if its a cheap lens. I won't even bother with any filters. Honestly

so the reason why people prefer b+w over hoya is because b+w is easier to clean?? Not about the glass quality? so if i dont complain of cleaning filters, should i just get a jhoya if both filters give the same quality performance?

Actually this question I've has been find up long time ago, there is not much diff.

Just you get B+W an look more pro, is made in Germany.
When you using the Hoya is non HD type they will said your is cheapest brand.
Depend how you look on your accessories that it :)

No point using protection filter. Important filters are CPL and ND. Worth or not very subjective. Some have bigger budget, some smaller.

I second this. Unless you are going somewhere where u may easily scratch your front elements :)
