I have Nano XS-Pro UV filter for all my lenses. MRC has 7 or 8 coating, Nano have one more extra coating than MRC, B+W website said that the Nano coating make it easier to clean than the MRC. Those filters really easy to clean, blow hot air, wipe, all gone. MRC and Nano diff by 5-10 dollars only so just get the nano version, go mass sales there, visiontecnic very nice guy. The shops price are high ballers for filters...

yes! i got all my filters from vincent too! got one time buy 5x ND110 at one go! good price! :)

hmm.. you've for a point there if you share filters. For me (one lens one filter) I would only use XS-Pro for the UWA only. The rest I'm satisfied with F-Pro :)

when you sell and buy new lens, no need to worry also~ can just transfer the filter over~

I sell lens don't give filter one cos will re-use. Too many extra and don't forsee will use, sell @ BnS. These days Canon L lens no longer 77mm standard or most common, come out new lens got 82mm, 72mm and 67mm.. Very sian..

I think in most cases, the MRC is sufficient for protection purposes :)

I got the MRC one for its easy-to-clean surface. Last time I used Hoya UV (coated) and the Pro-1, cleaning them honestly is quite a chore, and cleaning marks are usually still visible even after careful cleaning.

buy XS-Pro can use on wide angle to tele lenses, F-Pro cannot use on some UWAs, especially if you wanna stack filters. :(

I used to use the F-Pro on my previous 17-40, no issues when taking pics outdoors, but vignetting is more eminent indoors.

yup, the MRC is pretty easy to clean at grease resistant. Sometimes, I can use a tissue paper and wipe and use a blower/compressed air blower and it's done. for tougher cleaning, lens solution with microfibre cloth, wipe abit, then use dry side of the cloth and sayang abit, clean as new, no marks :D

I just clean using a microfiber cloth and gently wipe a few times.

ya, 2 out of 4 lenses i have are 77mm and the ones i planning to buy, are 77mm too.

oh? which lens you have in mind? 35L and 50L are 72mm.. hmm..

no la, i already have the 70-200L f4 IS. :)

looking at sigma 50 f1.4 and 17-40L when i eventually move to full frame.

ah those lens, good ones and you can re-use your 77mm indeed!

I use MRC F-Pro for my 70-300 and XS-Pro for my 50mm. Although i know they do help in some degree for reducing flares in increase some contrast, the main factor is protection for the front element of the lens itself.

I am on the F pro too, and more for the protection of the lens......... :)

Actually i didn't know abt the F-Pro thingy when i first bought B+W, i just knew that it's really gd as compared to Hoya.

I check and see that the F pro also is MRC.... mm.........

F-pro is the version before XS-Pro, then XS-Pro being superseded by XS-Pro Nano. Difference between F-pro and XS-Pro is just the thickness, the coating should be the same for both non-Nano models.

Much easier to maintain than the hoya when I had some smudges.....

B + W Filter:

F-pro or XS-Pro defines the thickness

F-pro (Matte Black Brass alloy Filter Ring; Alu alloy) Single coated or non-coated??? [Not easy to clean, NOT worth to get this series/type for this brand and not for wide angle]
F-pro (Matte Black Brass alloy Filter Ring; Alu alloy) MRC ;(High Quality Schott Glass) : [At least get this if you want this brand but not for wide angle]
XS-Pro (Matte Black Brass alloy Filter Ring) MRC ;(High Quality Schott Glass) :[Support for wide angle]
XS-Pro Nano (Matte Black Brass alloy Filter Ring) MRC ;(High Quality Schott Glass) ;Nano Coating Simplifies Cleaning Process better :[Support for wide angle]
