was in the queue for D800E... just got calls from 3 different shops... Nikon has just delivered new stocks late this afternoon..Got my d800e below RCP by >$200. Shops have D800. think can get below RCP now.

Happened to be in the Funan area, and here are my findings:

There're no stocks for D800, only SLRR has D800E available at RRP. Didn't budge on the pricing, so I didn't ask on set quantity (was looking at D800 instead). Went to CP to find my regular, and they said that the waiting for D800/D800E goes into the hundreds, with stock release only coming in a few sets a week. So it's highly unlikely that prices will go below RRP anytime soon.

I bought a new D800 with a16GB CF card, the moment I insert CF card and turn it on, the screen turn blank and could not take any shoot. After I remove the CF card, all becomes normal. Is anyone there know what happen to it as I'm the new user of DSLR?

Please format the CF or SD and use before or CF got problem...everything was still new and preferring to the shop or seller, thanks.

When I bough the D800 they free me Kingston 8gb x133...

Quite rare that they will give a CF card, previous gen CF card using body would come with none or a SD card at best.

I fail to understand why Singapore is so expensive for this.

It's a distribution issue. Where items are in short supply or have low demand they can fix the price high. Once someone can drive a truckload of product in from jb the prices come down. So you can see this weird graph where common items are cheaper in Singapore than other countries but the high end low volume models are more expensive. Plus no real Internet shopping which is driving prices down in Europe and the USA because Internet shops can get volume even on the exotic. Singapore shopping is strange to me. You can find 100 shops selling exactly the same stuff but the interesting stuff just isn't there.

Did anybody here preorder from John 3:16 for 4088 and got it already? I preordered mine and said it'll arrive 2nd week of May. Now they have stock but they won't give it to me for 4088 but 4488...I already paid 1k deposit and I need to get it asap as I'm leaving Singapore for good soon. They said that worse case is they give me my deposit back...

Any advice bros?

That's because J316 is not an authorised dealer, so they probably take stocks from elsewhere to resell, so as a middle man, their cost probably is already >4088 so thus they can't sell you now at 4088. 4088 only after ample stocks and the market is settled.

You're looking at 3-4months from now at best.
