Availability of D800E in Singapore

I really hope this thread contains latest contribution on the availability of D800E.

No hard feelings. I shall too contribute "Me too. Hahaha" in my response.

Sorry. Contribution was partly in response to question above about who would bite the bullet and buy the D800E. So I bit the bullet.

The D800E was available on Singapore's launch day of 24 April at major shops but 1-2 units each and sold at RRP of $4988 incl GST.

Probably not new info. Will contribute more useful updates in future.

think most people bought the D800E at the RRP. only limited pieces when I collected my camera on Wednesday evening.

tried my favourite AF28-105 f3.5-4.5D at aperture f9 and 10, yet to try at bigger apertures.

i'm surprised it still produces sharp fotos. guess this lens is a keeper, to me. :)

will try a few more lenses this Saturday.

i only have one motor-driven lens, the Sigma 12-24 mkII. all my other lenses are D lenses.

cheers and have a nice weekend ahead!

Do our local D800E come with free updated Capture NX2 as implied in the dpreview preview of the D800?

no...

quite disappointed. but its ok. my workflow only consists of photoshop.

Challenger Katong called me offering a unit of D800e. I turned it down. So there should still be a unit there.

Wat!?!? Seriously? $4688 for D800e?

Why? Is that cheap? Thought that should be about the present street price for the D800E if you buy from the dealers and not the department stores. Their member's price for the D800 is just very slightly lower than the street price for that camera. The good thing about buying from Challenger is the 0% interest installment and the points that could be accumulated for redemption later on.Anyway I probably should thank BlueBull for turning down their offer. If not, I wouldn't be able to get the last set of D800E at Challenger. :)

Well, with the stock level of D800e, you can expect the price to hover ard 4k plus for a long period of time. The premium of getting it early at street price is hard to resist. Really thanks to Bluebull not taking this deal.

If anyone is interested, I just saw a set of D800E at Clementi Mall challenger yesterday...

Clementi have?! I call no answer Maybe Sunday

try audio house... i book for D800 but yesterday they called and offer me D800E at 4.7k... only one unit... goodluck.
