How much does it matter, I wonder...
A manufacturer has limited resources and is dependent on others to produce its products which consist of many components or parts in the making of its products.
i really wish one day nikon will be using fujifilm sensor... the best sensor and one of the best lenses in the world:thumbsup:

Actually Nikon began life making all sorts of lenses for all sorts of applications including microscopes. Later canon contracted them to make lenses for the early canon cameras. Nikon is after all founded way before canon.
And Sony did not launch their own Dslr. They bought it from Konica Minolta. They just rebranded it and improved it in later model iterations.

Well, I would consider the Alpha range to be different enough from the ol' Konica-Minolta DSLRs... perhaps 'major rebranding and re-invigoration' is more appropriate?
